    EGR replacement cost.

Had my EGR valve & cooler done about a month ago at a local independent garage. I wanted a comparable one fitted which worked out £450 all in. Unfortunately it didn’t fit & they had to get a genuine part @ £570 as we were going away, bloody VW wouldn’t guarantee it unless they changed the pipes...

Coolant loss and intake runner stuck open/closed

I have begun the rather unpleasant task of changing the EGR myself (on my DSG, 150 ps van). It is a pig of a job. If you can avoid doing it yourself, I would strongly recommend it. What I learned so far: I don't think you need a hose pipe clamp tool, but it does make the job easier The bottom...

Replacing EGR Cooler with filter housing CXEB

...EGR Cooler out for a regular heat exchanger/filter housing? I saw mention that Darkside used to provide a kit but I cant find it. Is their hose-only based bypass option the better way? Might be nice to have the EGR pipes blanked, EGR cooler swapped out and ECU remapped for piece of mind

Big service quote, am I being ripped off?

Did they say why the egr pipes need changing, are they leaking

    Turbo boost sensor 03K 906 051

Not certain about the sensor ID, it will measure air pressure from the inlet into the charge cooler so possibly what you are looking for. The EGR Pipe does have gaskets which I believe are "crush" type, and probably need renewing. You should also confirm your Engine code and sensor location. Had...

Coolant loss and intake runner stuck open/closed

I also must mention. I bought an EGR kit from vwvanpartsdirec.co.uk because it explicitly states it includes, the EGR, bolts, gaskets and (crucially) the front and rear pipes. I did not receive those pipes and the seller has not responded to phone calls or email - as I seek to clarify or...

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

My 2018 150 DSG, 63k is at my local VW indie with a squeaky aux belt, they've just called to say the front and back EGR pipes are split and need replacing which has in turn damaged the aux belt with the leaking dirty exhaust gases (aux belt was only 6 months, 4k old). I'll suck up the £525...

    What Have You Bought Today?

Fresh MOT and interim service, all a bit dull. But essential etc, and I need a new egr front pipe, that seems to be leaking a little now. That would explain the smell on regen.

    What Have You Bought Today?

Mine same a couple of weeks ago with service and MOT - failed for split EGR pipe - MOT description said putting exhaust fumes in cab - so I’m glad they spotted it - I thought it was just doing a regen as did a lot of them before as short journeys then a few longer - funny now does not do as many!
