Thanks for this info, if/when I drive it to the garage I'll make sure I isolate the leisure battery so it's not draining the starter

Does it beep more in cold weather? I ask because charging voltages can peak higher in lower temperatures if your charger uses temperature compensation.

You should have this on the installation guide for the AMT-12 it's simply wired anywhere between the starter battery & Leisure battery

So I played it quite tight apparently, been a couple of weeks since I started the van and didn't have enough juice to get the engine started. I plugged in a trickle charger and started fine after a full charge. However (and I have read through other threads but didn't see a definitive answer)...

It won't necessarily turn on the DC-DC charger. Most have an IGN live or run signal to avoid discharging the starter battery while the engine is not running.

How did you connect the battery charger? Could it be a bad earth between the battery and Chassis/Starter motor?

The dc-,DC input NEG does not need to go back to the starter battery, just give it a chassis ground.

Size, I know they say it doesn't matter but numbers required. 🥸
