Motorhome dealers group in Poole as the vans starter battery needed to be replaced under warranty as it would just about start the van, arrive a little late as road conditions slowed everyone down a bit. Lithium leisure setup

If you're running a new cable anyway you could do the above (25mm2). You'd need a larger fuse at the starter battery end then have fuse distribution for the Orion feed and for your amps.

    Autoterm heater - leisure battery?

Accepted wisdom is the starter battery is sacred, it has one purpose and only one purpose. Everything else = leisure battery. If you order a factory van with a parking heater, you also have to spec the second battery.

...lighter style plug that connects to it? Also on wider interest, could you plug a charger into the main lighter plug to charge the starter battery? Or does this not work with modern car/van electrics? And if you did, would this activate the Victron charger and charge through to the leisure...

    Battery coding (again)

If you mean the starter battery, nothing really. It's a "smart" alternator and over time it will learn and adapt its chagring output to suit.

2018 T6 Factory Leisure Battery Question

...cabling (looks like there’s a 100A fuse on the feed)? Cable looks around 10mm² — would you reuse it or run new 16mm² from the starter battery for the Victron? Where would the factory split charge/relay normally be on these? Am I better off stripping it back and starting fresh, or building...

And still be able to start the thing? BM6 type battery monitor on starter battery. Not driven for a few days, started fine yesterday but only ran it for 5 minutes while testing something. Seems to read SOC low anyway (I realise it's just making it up from the voltage).

    CTEK D250SA Issue

...leisure battery as the old one wouldn’t hold charge above 8.5v, I have a 150w solar panel connected to one input to the CTEK and the starter battery connected to the other, everything seems to be operating ok but I’m worried that when I monitor the output to the AGM battery I’ve seen it go as...

    Alternator issues?

...issues, both starter and leisure. This might be due to low charge from the alternator. Whilst engine idling it read 12.2v at the starter battery terminals. Hardly enough, I'm told, to re charge the starter and definitely not enough to allow the Sterling battery to battery charger to start...
