After priming the lowpressurefuel line with Carista are you cranking the engine when bleeding the high pressure side?
The HPFP is a positive displacement pump, it has to turn to fill the HP fuel system including rail, HP pipes and injectors.
My van 66 plate LWB T6 broke down on Saturday evening. Loss of power and wouldn’t start again. No prior issues with it. We got it recovered by the AA to our local garage. Fault code was Global OBD II - 000 / Global OBD II Status P0087 - Rail 1: Pressure. Error Message : Pressure too low.
Garage...
Had the same issue lowfuelpressure with over run activation on happend loads of times it's a klller change railpressure sensor one thing turn the over run off in the dash that cured it for some reason the engine dies on over run going down hill with it switched on never done it since turning...
we thinking lowrailpressure?
or delayed increase in railpressure. . . ?
if you have access to VCDS,. . .
see here and get a railpressure plot.

@mmi data plots below.

fuelrailpressure at shutdown . . ...
...going to need a battery charger on it.
then a good code scan to see what logged in the Engine.
we thinking:
belt slipped - timing?
failed HPFP? - lowfuelrailpressure.?
glow plug2 - whats that fault for ?
and seperatly have a better look at that oil leak - possible CSMS leaking (common...
I have gone through all threads multiple times to no avail unfortunately, I'm at a serious loss. It is my family and work bus so I really am desperate to resolve the issue.
Common railpressure sensor 1 bank 1 "commanded" value is 320 bar
Common railpressure sensor 1 bank 1 "actual" actually...
I Tried to start my van (T6.1 150BHP Manual CXHA engine 22k miles) As soon as I put my key in the ignition the glow plug coil light came on and didn't not go out there was also an error message on MFD saying ACC error. I have had similar messages a few times over the 12 months I have owned it...
Hi everyone,
I have searched the the forum threads but nothing comes up that fits my current situation and was wondering if anyone here may have any insights.
I recently bought a t6.1 startline 110 with some dpf issues. Fixed them with a new sensor and a couple regeneration cycles.
All was...
Hi all,
Having done a bit of research on here I think I may have a timing belt issue. I had just embarked on the return journey of a 40 minute round trip when I felt/heard quite a bit of violent judder through the steering wheel. The Engine Management bulb came on (the one that looks like a...
A quick DIY way to test fuel lift pump's basic functionality.
The test takes advantage of engine's fuel high pressure sensor (in fuelrail). Running the lift pump continuosly makes the pressure eventually "leak" through high pressure pump and can be detected by fuelpressure sensor.
As a side...
Quick update on this.
I put a new battery on just before Xmas-no change to the problem.
Had an auto electrician turn up today. Scan showed same probs I had, he cleared them annd they didn’t come back and all my electrical gremlins were gone.
We could run the lift pump from his diagnostics...
I would assume you'd have to see some increase in railpressure if this was the issue also? There would have to be pressure in order for that pressure to then be dumped through the injector?
That's good... hmmm... does this mean the high pressure pump needs to have a closer look???
Just tested on mine that actually (surprisingly) pressure produced by fuel lift pump can be seen at fuel high pressure sensor (in fuelrail).
Lift pump can be kept on by VCDS > Engine > Basic Settings...
A leaky or sticking injector could cause the no start.
If one was leaking derv into a cylinder, that would cause lowrailpressure.
But probably cause a lumpy crank due to fuel in cylinder.
Possibly white smoke at start from extra fuel?
Thank you for the replies. Please see below my time line:
- I purchased the caravelle as a non runner. Had been diagnosed at a VW main dealer as failed EGR and bent con-rod then was sent direct to auction.
- I then stripped the engine down and replaced the EGR, con-rods, pistons, piston rings...
