    Oil sensor warning

The sensor is fixed to the bottom of the sump. The cable on my van traced back up into the cab under the front passenger footwell. I had to remove seat and lift mat to gain access for repair.

Oil level low, followed by low oil pressure

Looking at your pressure valve, I think it's a fake from AliExpress!!! One seller also offered me one, but it looks different from the original!!! There were supposedly VW badges, but as if someone had burned the original with a soldering iron, it looks different on the housing.

    Oil sensor warning

Yeh I’m pretty sure you can access from underneath as you can see part of its cabling through the sump guard. I think someone got their head in for a nibble - arse!

Why do main dealers change the sump plug every oil change? Or do they?

Hi guys I’m new to the forum. I recently carried out my first oil and filter change since buying my T6. I noticed on all the previous main dealers oil services that they charged for a new sump plug. So naturally assuming it had a crush washer I purchased one with the oil filter. However on...

Oil change T6.1 CXEC MY -20

I think the cxec is the same as my Cxeb having just done some Googling. The oil filter in underneath, next to the sump. Take the underbody engine cover off. Remove the small centre bolt from the oil filter canister and allow the canister to drain. Then remove the whole canister and swap the...

    CXEB PCV blocked / broken

No idea if £260 is a good price, Google comparison would tell. I’ve fixed PCV that have been leaking (not T6) but the only way I can see one causing over pressure is through being sooted up and that must be down to excessive blow-by gases. Excessive blow-by would be down to worn cylinders /...

P164b00 fault code oil pressure malfunction.. Glow plug flashing.. start stop not working.. limited revs

Have just been through this with our crafter 2018 37k miles. FDSH. Started as oil press switch and relief valve fault p164B00. Which were replaced only for the fault to re-appear a few months later. Following investigations, it was decided to remove sump and check the wet belt which drives oil...

Rough idle / potential misfire after EGR replacement, probable causes? VCDS logging approach?

From post #4 Maybe the intercooler is contaminated, the coolant won’t cause the symptoms you are experiencing. The intercooler can also be cleaned it doesn’t need renewing, it’s an air cooled radiator on a 102ps not a liquid cooled charge air cooler. It sounds like they don’t know how to use a...

    T5.1 low oil pressure (caab)

Good evening, so I've recently purchased a t5.1 with the 2.0cr caab engine. Annoyingly and something that could potentially be quite expensive the low oil pressure light flickered up whilst driving when the engine and oil is up to temperature. This has been confirmed by plugging a gauge into to...

2.0tdi faulty gates timing belt slipped 2 teeth 1 broken rocker

All back together now. I took my time and made sure I followed the factory manual. When I removed the head I also removed the camshafts so I could replace the broken followers. I used compressed air to clean the passages on the head and amazingly all but one of the needle rollers from the broken...

    Crank seal replacement

I would monitor it, occasionally remove the sump cover (if fitted) and the upper timing belt cover to check. 50K is a bit premature for a timing belt / pump renewal service. Your lucky it didn’t fail MOT, alway worth degreasing the engine prior to an MOT.

    Cambelt Change DIY CXHA?

Hi, just wondering if you have any updates on the corteco seal? I’ve been recommended this one over the genuine one after having the local VW dealership replace mine 3 times in 2 years and fail each time. I’m now out of warranty and they won’t redo due to me having the sump resealed separately...

Oil change T6.1 CXEC MY -20

Thank you for your support. Oil change with new filter went well. Just needed to borrow a 34 socket (right name in English?) to remove the filter. :) Oil change reset in the car is also made with Icarsoft CR max. Awesome tool to check the diagnostics. :) Feels much better now. 15000km and then...

[T6_measured] 01-Engine - Oil pressure switches & Oil level sensor

Just to update my fault, I replaced both brown and green oil pressure switches, when I removed the brown one from the filter housing the little gauze on the switch was blocked with sludge. The problem seems to be gone now, so will do another. engine flush and another oil+filter change.

    Alternator linbus wire fault

Quick question for those who've dealt with this issue, as I haven't been able to find an answer via search. I'm almost certain I have this fault based on the van's symptoms. So I had a look at the loom by the sump today. However the green/yellow cable looked healthy. I decided to replace it...

    Error PO401 EGR Insufficient Flow

I've only had the van for a couple of weeks so too early for me to tell and I don't know about previous owners. Looking at it's history it had a minor oil leak advisory in the last MOT, then about 9 months until that was repaired. The oil sump was removed and resealed. I've been a bit worried it...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

I bought something very similar to this siphon kit, it worked to remove 400ml plus to take the level of oil to half way up/down the crosshatching on the dipstick. Following another oil change service, oil was filled again to the top of the dipstick, I bought another siphon kit, the original had...

T6 Sump plug washer - what size

The thread size is M14 x 1.5 so in theory an M14 copper washer (or aluminium) would do . the washer on the OEM plug is captive so it would need to be removed from the recessed shoulder (captive washer) why not replace the sump plug for a couple quid (as OEM recommended)...
