According to the owners manual you should top up the adblue with the engine off, then turn the ignition on and wait for the adblue to reset (up to 30 seconds) before starting engine.
Some don't do this and have no issues, some do this and it doesn't reset, some say adding fuel at the same time...
...about vans having this mapped out, I've tried to search the forum for a definitive answer but nothing confirmed, hence this post.
If the Adblue is mapped out, would this disappear from MFD? I'm a total noob with Adblue, as I've never had a vehicle with this fitted.
Appreciate any help :)...
Rarely use a pump as it's more expensive over here. I use 10 litre containers to fill to the brim. Then the AdBlue level when the flow stopped is within reach by finger. Have been doing this 9 years now (on several T6) without issues - simply can't reproduce the AdBlue fault by filling to the...
10L of Adblue from B&Q for £10. Some Wynn’s anti-crystal additive from Amazon to put in at the same time as the adblue. And a 500ml top up bottle of Lanoguard to put another coat on underneath before the salt starts getting spread on the roads.

For some reason has to have adblue, im unsure why this is?
Absolutely. "AdBlue" is the trademark name for a simple but very specific formula. If it doesn't meet the spec it cant legally be called adblue.
Storage is key. From a garage forecourt where it's been set outside on display in the blazing sun for weeks is not a good source, no matter how...
My EGR code caused the AdBlue to error. Replaced the EGR and it cleared my AdBlue fault about 20k miles ago.
They both are there to reduce NOx, so if the EGR is choked, the NOx rises and the AdBlue has to work much harder to reduce NOx.
@ben5560 - I actually used a 10L adblue bottle the first time a top up was needed after I got the car but every other time it was done by Audi Tetbury at a service.
OMG. This is new. Exposed to the air?
I have a 22 L thank of Adblue under my van. It may last a couple of years if I never top it up. It doesn't look particularly hi-tech. Just a plastic tank with a blue plastic cap. Quite sure the tank is breathable, not sealed. Means exposed to the air...
No need to worry, it's just a DPF Regen.
There's a thread on here explaining it all

My 2019 T6 reported needing 2.00 gallons - 3.00 gallons (9 - 13 litres) of AdBlue required.
I didn't even get the 10 litre can of AdBlue into the tank before it started pouring out of the top.
Now, it is saying 450 miles range before engine will not start and I'm also worried about all the...
Something peaty is hitting the spot...tbh, cant remember what I put in there! Could be adBlu... but whatever it is, its helping numb the thought of getting the awning packed down in the morning...
Search the forum and you can read about my historical Vito woes!
Adblue filling on the 6.1 isn't difficult. No need for human sacrifices or a tarot reading before hand. Theees no mystery - simply read the fairly straightforward instructions in the handbook and youre dandy.
Brand shouldn't matter - AdBlue is the trademark for a very specific formula. If it says AdBlue then its the same as everyone else's (unless its counterfeit, but you avoid that by sticking to reputable retailers rather than simply buying g the cheapest.)
The big differentiator is exposure to...
Good morning can anyone advise please?
Amble range warning came on with ---- miles remaining. No previous warning. Topped up with about 8lts. The same warning message remains on.
Van still running but not sure if it may stop as it thinks the tank is empty? any thoughts?
Many thanks, Bruce.
