Yep, I couldn’t see how to get the switch out without doing that. There may be a way but a trim tool wouldn’t shift it so I removed the surround and pushed the switch out from the back

Welcome to us all @HavAnAdventure ! Upstairs and downstairs we just use a double fitted sheet and tuck it in a bit. Coverless duvays are great too, no hassle. And they fit in a normal sized washing machine when/if they start to pong!
