    How to control rear/roof heater?

I have the Caravelle with the rear heater but it's also 3 zone Aircon and that has additional controls. I suspect for a single control you'll find the hot air comes from the floor duct by the bottom of the C pillar and the cold air comes from the roof vents, depending on where you set it...

Newly retired and just starting the search for a T6.1

Seem to be a few on Autotrader that get close. Seems tailgates are more popular on LWBs? Most seem to have fancy alloys but that could presumably move to the nice to have list as, if the price was right, you could add wheels of your choice - even keeping OE wheels as a winter set or selling on...

    Cali or coachbuild?

I'm starting to waiver between self convert or something along lines of caravelle conversion but feel cost could spiral , big points I want are LWB and rear aircon and sliding seats/bed , which wouldn't be fitted to a panel van hence needed the caravelle

How.... how do you afford a van?

A Highline would have been nice but I couldn’t have stretched to that, so went for a Startline with business pack. It has aircon, rear reversing sensors, electric windows with heated mirrors. Yes it’s basic with the black bumpers & not much in the way of other toys & gadgets etc but none of that...

    Rear aircon and poptop?

So the van build planning took a break for a while but back on it, currently pondering the idea of if I find a decent kombi van with rear ac vents how difficult is it to reroute ducting and wiring once pop top is fitted, similar to that of a cali, I'm stuck on wanting a lwb or I think I probably...

    Rear Air Con

The thing is the Shuttle/Caravelles with the 3 zone climate control will all have the ducting in the centre of the roof where the middle row of seats are Only the California, to my knowledge, has the ducting down the sides of the roof to clear the pop top. So it may only be possible to do if...

Air Source Heat Pump Central Heating - Experiences?

Yeah, the rooms in our house which face south are a proper suntrap in the afternoon so the aircon units are great there. They’re actually more efficient in heating mode than cooling though, so I’m hopeful they’ll be pretty good this winter - initial testing is positive.

Camper conversion - ride quality differences between Kombi & Shuttle

...will be used for occasional camping which I'll use a poptop bed for, but mainly carrying bikes and a large dog! I'm aware of stuff like rear Aircon, vehicle class(M1/N1), extra rear windows and interior trim, etc. but are they mechanically the same and do they drive the same? Shuttles seem...

What Have You Bought, But Not Yet Fitted or Used?

Moomin makes me feel a little better about my list...I keep meaning to get on with them, but other jobs seem to take priority away from the van. Compete OEM aircon retrofit (big job, so keep on putting it off) Some additional lights I bought to install in the back door area (the rear seats...

Newly retired and just starting the search for a T6.1

Quite a few of your 'must haves' can easily be added later (bed-seat, pop top, wheels, side awning, etc.), so perhaps consider moving those to your 'nice to have' list in order to maximise your selection pool. Also, all Highlines come with cab air con, as do Startlines with added Business Pack...

Kombi van to look like a shuttle caravelle

...It's a T32 so can carry more It is a car classed as M1 so can drive legally at 70 mph on dual carriageway and motorways. It has the rear Aircon and heater (the windows don't open so quite a bit of a benefit when it's very hot. They have car like interior so less tinny and echoey, though you...

Newbie post so please be gentle

...rear then that forces you to Shuttle with digital climate control or a Caravelle which has it as standard. I’ve got a Shuttle without rear aircon and it is a bit of a problem in the hot weather, if I bought again I would only go with full aircon in the rear as ours is a daily driver too...

What's behind the rear wheel arch?

I removed the jack bracket with drill bits. 4 spot welds. Unfortunately drilled through one with 8mm. Not the end of the world. I'm trying to figure out the best way of sealing it. If I can get behind the wheel arch I can place some denso tape to stop any moisture etc maybe chemical metal putty...

New to the forum & VW’s!

Hi, having just put a deposit on a T6, thought joining this forum seemed like a good idea also - maybe I should have joined up here first! The van is only a 2017 Startline but does have aircon, elec windows / mirrors and rear parking sensors. Once it’s been collected it’s going for a campervan...

    LWB Caravelle Owners

So my LWB van says 'Caravelle' on the build sticker - never quite sure what that meant? What excatly is the definition of a 'Caravelle'? Anyway it has a pop-top but the rear heating is no longer there. There were some pipes going to the roof for air con which we found out when one of them had a...
