Yes, the remote H pin is just telling the charger function to power on or off, not powering on the device. The DC-DC is getting power from the battery. If it wasn't, the remote wouldn't work.

Hi, sorry I have been away and just seen this message. If I remember correctly I ended up taking the switched live from the washers and had an empty slot which was a permanent live so used that. Not had any issues with it so far.
