    Cam Belt Change requirement

My 2018 DSG has just hit 140K. It's an ex rac with full history and nothing to say cambelt has been changed, I've not got any issues with it but I've been thinking about getting it done just as a precaution as only just bought it. But now I've seen the official 140K deffo getting it done so...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Cambelt and water pump replaced, £392 all in, not a bad price I don't think.

    Hi. New owner....

...I had t4s years ago but moved on to Toyotas. I'm looking for recommendations in Yorkshire for a few things I'd like doing. I want the cambelt changing, the vans on 82k miles, is it worth doing the crank seal as well? I'd like cruise control, either on the steering wheel or stalk so any...

    T6 brake servo removal

...turned up today so had to get nylon block out of pedal, used a wood chisel and pushed it in between block and pedal and levered it out no damage so reused it. Servo fitted and master cylinder back in place. EGR, turbo pipe some wiring and cambelt cover to replace then could be ready to go. Baz

    Vibration 1600/2000rpm 140PS DSG

I have a 2016 t6 t32 140 euro 5, 6 speed manual 51k miles. I have the same problem at 1800revs. It's been doing it for the past week. I am booked in at the dub doctor for a cambelt and pump service in March, he said he will investigate the rev issue. I will let you know if he finds anything.

    T6 50,000 mile service

...And having watch some videos on YouTube I believe the EGR valve, Clutch & Fly wheel need doing? My T6 is 10 years old and had the cambelt done before I bought it. The previous owner had an interim service done before and everything was aparantly fine, however I want it to have the best...

Buying first Transporter to convert - good price?

...had 2 bald front tyres and only a months MOT left on it so I got them to rectify that, and service it. Check reviews online for the dealer. Cambelts are every 140,000 miles, oil service is every 2 years or 10,000 miles. As said check service history, they no longer have a service book, it's...

    For Sale Swap my wheels?

Nice wheels, but not load rated if that bothers you.

    T6 for evaluation

It's too far away. Keep looking. You want something local. Within 40mins driving distance or less. That van needs new cambelt and water pump in my opinion. The dealer has the advantage here as you are likely an obvious desperate buyer so you have no leverage at all if you go look at it, and if...

    Engine Oil Help Please?

...many miles I intend to do over the winter I don't know if its worth it. Do many of you switch through out the year? Also wondered what the cambelt change mileage is? I done my Transit at 40,000 as have heard some horror stories (although that is a wetbelt). Am hoping it's just a toothed...

To buy or not to buy? Crankshaft seal leak

Very common problem. If you are replacing, you will end up replacing the cambelt and water pump at the same job.

    Want to be T6 owner!

...had any problems with non-DPF/adblue diesels in past, had old transit connect for a number of years and l200s. Thanks for your comments re. cambelt/haldex - that's reassuring to know, not long had cambelt done on mitsi and wasn't the cheapest of jobs so good to hear from you guys to follow...

    Main dealer hourly rate...

I know it sounds like a line from "Would I Lie To You?" but that is what he said as apparently the belt was the noise I could hear, I'm hoping it's racing grease and good for at least another 50hp but reckon it's probably more like the rosin you put on violin strings.

    Rumble..

...- if it wasn't fitted the torque of the diesel engine would make for a jerky engagement and puts excess stress through the gearbox so just drive it steady. I managed fine with my old T5.1 for months whilst I saved up for a new clutch & DMF - had the cambelt & water pump done all at the same time.

Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Check your front crank seal before it goes the garage to mate. They are common for leaking, I’m sure there is a thread on here about it. Crank seal can be seen from drivers side wheel arch.

80k miles / looking to buy / cambelt?

I’m fully aware of the Cambelt topic and how it differed to the rest of Europe. For me personally I maintain my vehicles regularly with regular sometimes unnecessary services etc but was the way I was brought up with my dad a mad car enthusiast. I’ve had 3 transporters and have never paid...
