    Inlet manifold removal

I got the manifold off, it took some doing! I’ll bathe it in brake fluid to clean if tomorrow, while it’s bathing, I’ll make a start on cleaning up the cylinder head, at least mating face, ideally I’d like to clean the inlet ports, but I’m a little dubious about bits falling into the engine...

Advice please - EGR and Manifold issues (split pipe)

Recently the Caravelle 150PS 2015 T6 engine management light came on. Luckily my brother has a bodyshop and I put the van on his Autel machine. Here I presume lies the problem I also get exhaust fumes in the cab and my local garage has said there is a split in the concertina pipe which is...

Suspension / wobbly drive would be my guess as well. But check for split egr pipe although most report exhaust smell in the cab. Heated windscreen was a pretty good guess as well, I don’t have one so don’t know how visible the grid is.

T6 AdBlue/DPF Nightmare - Garage Told Me to Scrap It, But It Drives Fine?!

@mmi - Thanks for your response! Yes there was soot in the tailpipe. Also, yes running original VW software, no remaps. They did their software update for me a few months back at the main dealer. I have had P20EE come up for me around 5-6 times, which I have been clearing, but P204F has only...

    EGR fault

Fuel preference won’t make any difference before or after a fault develops. It could be caused by one or more of the following. 1. Split or leaking EGR gas circuit, often a cracked pipe at the bellows, will be a strong smell of exhaust gases / soot stains on pipe. If so replace the pipe, there...

2017 204 oil consumption issues [Resolved]

The EGR blanking plates could be placed at either end of the EGR pipes but it you want the best protection against a split pipe they should be placed so that the pipes are isolated along with the EGR unit.

    Fault code P0299 Boost - 2019 Crafter

I replaced the egr inlet pipe yesterday as I had suspected this, but on removal it was fairy straight, no pitting or splits etc…. I went to Vw and got a new one anyway, along with new gaskets and spline bolts…. I should also have done the egr outlet pipe , as I know one end of it has a rubber...

EGR Sensor 'A' (EGR Sensor '1')

I've just stripped and cleaned the EGR on my van. 2016 T6 104 SWB (euro6) manual. #teamsilver Some notes: The steel pipe under the EGR can be bent down about 10mm, just enough to expose the nut behind it (lower left nut as you look from the right), fairly easy to get a deep socket on it then...

    Split front EGR flexi

Had the front EGR pipe split at the flange yesterday on me, managed to do a temp fix to get me home with some magic metal. But on removing today the end was absolutely covered in crap. Is this a normal amount to expect? Oh and is there an easier way to get to the torx bolt on far side? It was...

Everythings going wrong! EGR pipes and sticking inlet manfold flap valves link?

Hi all, first time poster but quickly getting used to garage bills and reading this forum! So I bought my 2016 T6 a few months ago. I discovered the rear egr pipe was split so replaced it. I then started to get an eml with the P2006 intake manifold runner control stuck closed bank 1A code. I...

Hey n10b, it’s been doing it since before I changed the EGR plus new reinforced pipe. I could smell it in the cab sometimes. Now no more smell and CO meter shows reading of zero. I don’t have heated windscreen. It doesn’t handle badly but these stock shocks aren’t factory fresh with 145,000km...

Advice please - EGR and Manifold issues (split pipe)

Start with the split EGR pipe and go from there. A common problem and easy fix for your local Indy. Or diy if you like playing with spanners. Then note, clear the codes and see what comes back. Id imagine a EGR flush/replacement may be due if you haven't had it done yet?

Re - gen happening too often

Mine will do a regen when there is less than a quarter of a tank in. 2017 204. I can only ever smell the regen if I’m outside the van-even when stationary. Deffo check the egr pipes for a split.

    Turbo - anyone upgraded.

Hi. Are to you sure it's not a boost leak somewhere or maybe the EGR pipe which is known to split? The symptoms are whistling but it can also create a diesel exhaust smell in the cabin as the gases are released in the engine bay. Just a thought. I only have the 140 so a different turbo and...
