Best wheel and tyre size for van

Cheers Bundy , hopefully replacing 255 with 255s will ensure no front tyre rub at full lock Cheers

    Devonport’s

...a local can too. Ignore my ignorance, but are these suitable for a T32 T6? If so, what’s the widest tyre that I can get away with. I want the rugged look but still tarmac friendly, so thinking Wildpeak’s perhaps? What do narrower wheels feel like compared to my Sportline wheels with...

Wheels again - What difference does width make?

I’m on 255/45 18 and the speedo is spot on vs GPS if that’s what you are considering. Only vehicle I’ve ever had that is absolutely spot on.

Fixed solar upgrade. Flexi or rigid?

Mine are 18" rims also, kept getting twigs and stuff between rim and brake disc on a set 17" not a massive problem but a pain. Have 255/55R18 BFG KO AT. Needed to make a purchasing decision chose 18" steel rims. In fact the steel rims probably negates twigs getting jammed in the first place...

    Tyres for 18” 8.5J wheels

Freshly delivered yesterday, 18" wolfrace x10x wheels. Would I be right in thinking tyres would be 255/45 R18 Y ?? Also can anyone recommend a brand and a supplier / fitter in Surrey, that won't damage them ?

    Wheels size

Hi everyone I’m Oguzhan, I find for my T6 18’’ wheels. This is the rim I want bmw style 397 and 255/45/R18 tire. That rim specs 8Jx18 5x120 ET34. Will the rims overflow from the car when I wear these bodies?

    Winter Tyres?

An 18” winter is fine. We run the factory 255/45/18 tyre for our winters. Our 18’s actually fit over our 362mm Brembo brake kit with a 10mm spacer. The rear is 15mm spacer - this is purely for looks. An 18 Should fit over the standard T32 brakes no issue. Here is ours on 18’s

Today has not gone as planned!!🤦‍♀️

Quite possibly why the AA technician said 50 miles at max’ 50 MPH? Even then they were sticking their neck out, if something happened during that 50 miles they could be implicated.

...as a legal minimum requirement. T30 is 101, T32 is 103. It seems like even your existing tyres aren't appropriately load rated for your van, which is a problem. I'd just buy 4 new tyres and I'd go either 255/45/18 or 235/55/18 with the correct load rating. There is plenty of choice in both sizes.

    Very harsh ride

@bigcarpjohn the cheap tyres won't help. I had a similar experience when I bought mine and in the end I went back to an 18" Sportline wheel (from 20's with terrible Chinese tyres) with the standard size 255/45 18 fitment and correctly load rated Michelin Cross Climate 2's. I then went to @CRS...

255/45/38 Tyre Pressures (wearing in middle)

Cheers @PaulR83 its nice to know its not just my setup then! I am running 255/45/18. How are you finding the 55 profile, does it make the ride any softer over the 45?

    Overall Height with Pop Top

I wouldn’t trust those fast peage lanes, says 2m but definitely got scrapes on my old roof box when going through them in a car and definitely lower than 2m

tyre fitment, 18 steels on a lowered van

I run 18" Momo Revenge with 255 45 tyres but lust after 20" Judds and lately in another dream some Rotiforms!:inlove:
  17. BognorMotors

235/55/18 on a lowered van no clearance.

They would rub on Solow LOWs - you’d need a 255/45-18 to work with the LOWS. Be OK on Solow NSL at a medium to higher setting. HTH

Practical wheel/tyre combo for full laden T6.1

I'd stick with your wheels but with 235/55/18 tyres - more sidewall should equal more comfort.

18” Tyre recommendations for 8J wheels

Suspension needs sorting for a more comfortable ride you're not going to manage that even with balloon tyres. :geek: Again, 18" wheels 255 45 tyres and H&R coilovers with the underslung water tank being the limiting factor. Just remembered 20mm spacers on the back and 8.5" width all round.

Practical wheel/tyre combo for full laden T6.1

I’ve got a T6.1 work van fully loaded with around 800kg and have 18” Amarok wheels with standard tyre size 255/45/r18. Suspension has been upgraded with KONI and I’m very slightly lowered when laden (I think around 30mm) so the arches aren’t too big. Roads in Sydney aren’t amazing everywhere...
