So I'm currently running 255/45/18 but after reading more and more tyre threads some say 235/55/18 are a better tyre size. More comfortable and fill the arch more 🤔🤔
Even more confused now 😕

For a 17” Swamper on standard suspension you can go 245/65/17, lowered 235/65/17 or even lower with a 225/65/17
On an 18” Swamper a 235/55/18 works really well
We sell all wheels and tyre package so are happy to quote and offer an advise required
Mine are 235/5518, so probably a similar volume oif air. and Im 44 front and rear with a camper conversion aboard and Eibach HD rear springs. Try thjat as a starting point and fiddle from there.
Here are a few photos of my T28, which I recently fitted with Sparco Terras.

...currently is very good on 235/50/18. The van feels almost chuckable and is really stable at speed. So losing that is a concern too.
At the risk of posting yet another van pic. Is it possible to say what would look best. Either 235/65/17 or 235/55/18.
Thoughts & comments gratefully welcomed
You have no arch rub with these when turning at all? I’ve just bought some 18s and trying to work out what tyres to purchase was looking. At the 235/55 and the 255/55 and getting confused!!
Some people have suggested this! And it’s more affordable for me not to change wheels.
is it possible for me to have a spare wheel that matches the total size using the 16” steel wheel it came with?
I wouldn't worry. Despite what folk say about it supposedly being 'weak' the 5 cog unit is the most common one, yet the majority of posts on here about box faults are for DSG and 6 speed units.
Im in 235/5518 and doing quite pleasantly.
However, they have a fairly low torque capacity at...
That's a thing ... so mines a 4Mo, currently on 235/55/18 not sure what size the spare is but it's a 17 incher ... so if I had to put the spare on (on the back) would it upset the 4Mo gubbins if the rear wheels weren't being driven at all?
I’m sure what you’re looking at above are 18” wheels with 235/55/18 Falken Wildpeak tyres. That’s a really strong look in my opinion and will without doubt be far more comfortable and practical than 20” wheels.
Each to their own as always, but having had 20’s, then 18’s, then 17’s, I’ve been...
...years, no abnormal tyre wear at all.
ALL the posted stickers have lower pressure at the back (heavy engine at the front obvs) my van has around 2-300kg in the back day to day.
So if I run 44 front, 38 back (235/55/18 Avon AX7) will I feel any difference? Will it be 'better' in any way I...
