We are at a music festival in a small country town in Victoria. It is hot hot hot. 42 degrees Celsius in the shade We rode our bikes into the town this morning and went to the local swimming then to the pub for lunch and then back to the pool and rode home wet but were dry within 2 km Today is...

How do people keep the fridge ventilated ?!

The instructions with the fridge show the minimum air space at the back, bottom and top of the fridge. The void is ventilated by convection. On my van I have a Dometic CRX50, there is a small gap under the fridge, a void behind the fridge and there is a gap of approx 10mm between the worktop and...

how long will it take for interior lights to run ignition battery dead and other ecoflow questions

You could add a smallish 12v battery and small DC-DC charger to run your lights and fridge. Leaving the EF free for other things.

how long will it take for interior lights to run ignition battery dead and other ecoflow questions

60w for fridge. 12w for led lights. So 72w ish. But pulling 8A from that 12v will make it get hot. But less so as the fridge cycles on and off. You might need to make a short connection cable to get the 12v out the EF,... Then to either a small busbar or fuse box, to get the feed for lights...

Dometic fridge - orange flashing light

The dometic is exactly the same as my Sanjo. The orange light is on when the compressor isn't running. A standard check is to leave the door open for a minute, the blue light comes on as the compressor kicks in when the internal temperature rises a bit. The top orange/red light is the fault...

What do you keep / leave in your day van?

I've got a camper but we mainly use as a day van. Having 2 kids I've tried to get it to a place where when going out for the day we don't need to do a big pack beforehand. In the van we have all the standard cooking stuff, bbq, plates, cups etc. Toaster, kettle, air fryer. Sunshade awning...

Fridges & Cold Beer -- How I Done It --

It's 2024 now and the camping season is about to start. Reading back over this thread from it's humble beginnings on 2018 a lot has changed in the fridge and beer cooling market. These days a lot of the fridge's come with a BT app, which is great in my opinion. But seen as gimmicky by some...

    Roadtripper's Caravelle tinkering

Thank you for messaging me with so much detail. This is possbibly the way forward for me. There are 5 of us (including 3 hungry teens!) so could do with a large fridge so I will be checking out Alpicool. I'm planning on getting a drive away awning and I'm hopeful that the kids will be happy to...

New van - nearly there - advice?

Something below that I have mentioned in previous threads: With reference to your conversion, give it some serious thought of what you think you want to what you actually want. For example, are you happy to cook in the van and potentially have the interior smelling like your local greasy spoon...

Alpicool Battery Bay - P18 review

...really glad I added it. Yes it's quite steep if you don't get a good deal. Yes it takes up a lot of the space especially in an already small fridge. But... It's amazingly useful to just move the fridge about as you are packing and loading knowing it's looking after itself. When we got to...

[Guide] DC-DC Charger (for leisure battery) -- How I Done It --

Agree it’s a nice box and 25amps too. My strong advice is 50Ah is too small. Especially if you have a fridge etc. it would need constant charging. I have 480Ah by using 4x leisure battery’s overkill for most people but it means I can charge drone batteries (work) remotely with the inverter.

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

Hello all, I am working up courage to swap split charge relay with a Victron DC to DC and Ablemail 12-2. I only currently have a 75 sized leisure battery. So was thinking of changing that too for a bigger capacity. This is all under driver seat (impacted by diesel heater dusting). I have...

    Keto in the campervan....

In more serious conversation I suspect it's not so much the cooking it's the storage, with a lot of low carb being meat and green veg. I'm a great fan of batch cooking and freezing before a trip to extend the run time of a fridge (and a small van is not ideal to cook rather than warm through...

    r6pauls T6.1 day van build

Whilst the van was back at mine and waiting to be finished off I set to work on designing the bed system. As I need the van for everyday use, ferrying the kids around, trips out, solo camping, diving etc my layout isn't really the same as everyone else's. I also suffer from a medical condition...
