Hi all
I have a crazy reversing camera, it’s original vw but fitted by me 4 years ago. I did coding with vcds but don’t have it now.
It’s working only sometimes, very often not.
When on reverse the screen is not changing or not black.
But, if I do reset then it’s working but for some short...
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to install a 12V cigarette/power socket in my 2009 VW T5, but I’d like it to only be live when the ignition is on.
I’m considering tapping into a fuse for this. I already have a radio connected to SB19, and I was wondering if SC23 might be a suitable option. I haven’t...
...dc charger shuts down due to low input. I am aware that this is an issue with smart alternator and am looking at running an ignition switchedlive to a voltronic D+ simulator and on to the H terminal on the dc charger. I will also shut down auto engine shutdown in tge victron app. Has anyone...
Oh, another thing to try, I used to live in France with my ex (French). I discovered that if you want to hide anything in France, there's no better place than under the soap dish.
I reckon that you could glue a soap dish to the dash of your van, and hide a kill switch beneath it? Always worth a...
I am installing a Victron Orion TR smart isolated dc-dc. Just a quick question, should the bluetooth always be switched on, I thought it would switch off when the remote is switched off. I have pin H connected to a switchedlive, but when the ignition is switched off the bluetooth stays active.
Fuses are fine, theres live feed going to the ribbon cable on the screen, the engine sound even dips when i switch it on to say there's a draw in power, but the screen heater doesn't work?
So that means you only really have 60ah of usable battery. I'd personally upgrade to lithium before adding in solar. Most bang for your buck in terms of upgrade.
It maybe unorthodox but I can't stretch to a full leisure battery install, but I'm looking at ways of powering ceiling leds with a dimmer switch on a B pillar.
Wanted to see if anyone used a power bank in this way and if so where it lives in the van? We only camp for a couple of nights a...
There’s a permanent live at this rotary light switch. It’s okay if got my work van back now so have my tester. Was just a bored Saturday afternoon so thought I’d get some bits done.
This answer may be obvious but I must ask to be safe
I fitted a Vitron XS to the our already converted van which is a 2020 T 6.1 T32 this worked ok for a while but then started blowing the 60a fuse from the starter battery. I checked the 16mm cable originally fitted and noted it was split and...
Plug something into the socket and see if it goes off when you turn the ignition off.
If it is a Dashcam with parking mode you may need two feeds to use all the features - one to constant live and one to live when ignition on - otherwise it won’t know to switch mode.
Hardwire kits are not too...
Just double checked and the only pins connected on the van side of the 8 way plug are:
Perm 12v - Red on van side to Orange on PF Jones loom
3x earths
Nothing is connected on the van side of the 12 way - Thats checking for 12v on the van side of the plugs
I assume there must be something...
@Deaky are you able to give any advice on the wiring here?
I assume that at the front: red = switchedlive (piggyback fuse), black = pin 12, white = pin 6
And at the back: black = feed from reverse signal, brown = earth.
You could use a solid state relay (SSR) of an appropriate amperage to switch the live to your “boiler” from a 12v signal from the switch your converter put in for you.
I used a fuse tap from a heavy permanent live fuse into a relay which is switched on from an ignition feed so the seat can only work when ignition is on if you want it to work all the time don’t use the relay.
If I lived closer ( I am in Bognor Regis) I would give you a hand I should say I am...
Hi all …Looking to install the Ctek to my t6 , does anyone know where I can find the ignition switch live for the smart alternator? Any photos would be great also ideas of routing the cable from under the drivers seat. Thanks I’m new to this world of converting vw transporters so I’m pretty...
