    Sportline wheels wearing already

Whilst cleaning my van this morning. I noticed my Sportline Wheels have odd yellow'ish marks all over them. I spoke to Tom at Bristol Camper Company and he said he has had another customer with the same problem. Apparently it's the lacquer reacting with road salts or something like this. He...

    Lets Talk Alloys

It's just the design of the wheel, regardless on which end of the pricing scale you choose. I've owned budget polished wheels, high end polished wheels, and genuine polished wheels, and not one set lasted, the worst were the high end ones I got from the States. When I complained to the company...

    4motion - Which Variant

Short answer: Yes, correct. However I would like to say T6 is more full time 4wd than many regular passenger cars as Haldex coupling is tightened pre-emptively based on how you apply throttle instead of waiting wheel slip. I have noticed that on snowy roads I can accelerate at full throttle all...

    Wolfrace Scorpio

Funny isn't it. You're exactly spot on with previous Cars and not changing wheels. I've owned loads of cars, and the factory wheels were perfectly sufficient, but since owning vans, i've changed wheels several times, and always looking even now (myself and several other members bounce links to...

    Sportline wheels wearing already

Typical diamond cut wheel white worm. It's road salt and water getting under the lacquer and lifting it. Manufactures usually only give 6 months warranty on diamond cut wheels as youre basically trying to stick and etch lacquer to a polished aluminum surface. Still see what VW say.

    Decision time...

Thanks for the information. You made my decision a lot easier... I will go standard look on 20” wheels, it will be my daily driver even though I don’t cover many miles I don’t want to be getting the wheels re-dressed every year!

    Decision time...

It's a reference to an issue that's common with diamond cut/polished fronted wheels. Most of these styles are generally painted in one colour, then the faces cut with a machine, then the full wheel lacquered. This is what gives the polished front look. The issue is where the lacquer either...

Dimond Cut Alloy Repairs - Any Recommendations?

Diamond cut alloys can't be repaired. You will loose the diamond cut face. If it's deep it will have to be sprayed. If it's minor and or white worm the face can be cut back but there is a limit. I do bodywork and wheels and feeling any diamond cut wheel. I just replace the wheel if I scuff...

    Had the van detailed today.

Thanks @ChrisR . Coming from a man whose van I lust over several times a day, that's helpful advice which I will follow. I keep going back to yours because I just love your wheels, but I'm reluctant to put a silver multispoke on because I worry about alloy worm and the amount of work required to...

All Season Vs Summer & Winters?

My Caravel, is an Executive 4Motion plus diff lock also. Its one of the later ones off the line just at the end before the 6.1. It was a cancelled order and had most of the things that I wanted. All except hill decent, which for me is quite important. I told the dealer that I had seen the...

    235/55/r17's Tyre Recommendation Please

IMO, 215's will always look under rubbered on a T6, why not go for 235/60/17 which is 1/2 way between your tyres now and the 235/65/17. There are lots of web sites which explain how tyre sizes work, but basically 215 is the width of the tyres in mm = 215mm wide 65 is the aspect ratio (or...

    18” Tyre recommendations

Hi All, I am trying to spec up the types to go with a set of Zitto 935 18's. They are 8.5J wide. Custom Vanz and others are using 255 45 R18's is this the best spec, or should I consider something else? Also which brand-model do people recommend, I am inclined to go with the big brands but...
