    Which? Aftermarket Headlight choices

Had a first night drive on the T6. The stock headlights are something. I cant see anything in the dark. I assume mine are H4 lights with the beam height regulator in cabin. Left hand drive vehicle here...

Thanks for the welcome CAB, yes, I agree 100%. I was kind of expecting them to be awful, as I did lots of research on T6 issues, but to be honest, I didn’t expect them to be as bad as they actually are. Might strap a couple of iPhones to the front and turn on the torch to see if that would be...

Welcome to the forum. Before you start spending on looks, you may want to take a drive at nighttime, once you do you will probably want to swap the H4 headlights for something decent.

H4 Daylight Running Lights to LED

I can thoroughly recommend the Philips GT200 bulbs for the H4 lights. Just make sure you buy them from an authorised dealer (auto bulbs direct or Powerbulbs) as there are lots of fakes on eBay and Amazon.

H4 Daylight Running Lights to LED

Aren't the powers that be trying to get dazzling lights reduced, probably aimed at headlights rather than running lights. As for error's I'm guessing that the current is monitored (probably just a set value) i.e. 7A ok less than 3A error it just depends what the LED takes. Roughly 10% of halogen...

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

You only need one pair of replacement H7 bulbs. The best bang for your buck will be to replace the dipped beams. The high beams don't matter as much. Isn't it revision F and G that has the new DRL holder? Just checked, yes, F and G...

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

For clarity… The LED headlight units that have non-replaceable ‘bulbs’, in other words fixed LEDs soldered in place, should be legal (assuming they have genuine accreditation). Headlight units that are designed to take replaceable LED ‘bulbs’ - whether H7, H4 etc. are not road legal despite what...

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

Cheers mate, will take a look. Noted on the bulbs. So is the THQ Kit they sell with the H7 LEDs for like 550 not road legal? Thanks for the recommendation on the Phillips, they have popped up a few times. I will take a look.

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

Something road legal. Passed a T6 with what was either LED bulbs in standard units or LED aftermarket units the other night… bloody appalling for us coming the opposite direction. Could barely see the road ahead - and I was driving a modern car with LED headlights! I’m still on H4 lights but...

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

Yes, E revision and later will have the revised DRL bulb holders, ie 1005E 1006E. LED DRL bulbs are a good upgrade and then whatever H7 bulbs you prefer. H7 LED are not road legal.....

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

Hi all, I am looking to do this upgrade on my T6. Currently got the H4. Just to confirm, I am looking for a set of headlights that are the 7C2941005 and 7C2941006? Is it then recommended to swap the bulbs in these before I fit? Cheers

    T6.1 headlight plug pin diagram?

There seems to be a few different variants for headlights, so will depend on which you have. H4 H7 H15 etc. Eg, Mine has H7 low beams on the outside, and H15 for high beam as well as DRL/parking lights on the inside.

    Vland T6 LED Projector Headlights

Approval by who ?? I’m not under any warranty so don’t have to satisfy VW.Just because they are aftermarket doesn’t mean they can’t be road legal. Apparently they carry the E mark and are completely road legal in the uk. I’m sure not everything doesn’t have to carry the Vw logo to be legal ...

    Vland T6 LED Projector Headlights

Yeah, I get what you’re saying but I want to stay on the legal side of things. I’m very friendly with my MOT guy having taken 4 or 5 vehicles every year for the last 20 odd years and don’t want to put him in the position of having to tell me they’re not mot compliant when I already know it. ( He...

    Vland T6 LED Projector Headlights

If you've got H4 headlights and just want them to be brighter and not spend a fortune then bung in brighter lamps, this has been going on since the start of the forum. Personally, Novsight LED H4 lamps have served me for 6 yrs now (the same pair) MOTs have been passed, oncoming drivers haven't...

    Removing Front bumper

I've had the bumper off my 2016 Highline Kombi a few times for the headlights (H4 to H7 swap) and an intercooler replacement. The first time, I disconnected the fogs. After that, I just removed the fasteners and carefully supported the bumper up on an old blanket as I only needed access for a...
