Finally got to the end of these problems
First off I decided to replace the egr cooler, this helped about 80% better. Rubbish job to do. Especially on a dsg. However job done. Run nearly perfect but still a bit laggy sometimes and turbo boost fault code came on but more when cruising.
So...
...management light and the van went into Limp mode.
I took the van to a trusted garage and put it on their on reader and it came back with a P0299 code (Turbo Underboost/Low Boost)
Having checked for anything obvious, pipes/leaks it’s looking likely the turbo is the issue and I will need to...
...air leaks in charge air pipes - between turbo and engine intake manifold. E.g. split charge air cooler (aka intercooler).
Check this below - not the same engine but AXD has similar arrangement...
...engine). It also just convinced me that any oven cleaner sprayed into the exhaust side in-situ just wouldn't really work.
The fault code was P0299 Turbo underboost.
So, has anybody found a good guide how to strip this turbo and done it succesfully? If anyone has a Mazda or knows Mrniceguy...
I have a t6 2.0 bi tdi 204bhp
When I start it there’s a buzzing and Slizzing sound on idel
Then when I start driving glow plug light comes on
I scanned it and code comes up with p0299
...along with the other 3. Genuine parts it felt better. But not 100% but didn't give me any codes. Untill I done long distance approx 100 miles. P0299 turbo underboost.
I have also checked both the egr pipes front and back. Rear one was changed last year. No leaks here either re tested with...
...drove perfectly find but a bit underpowered for when it’s fully loaded.
So I got a remap and the underpowered issue is gone but I get the same p0299 turbocharger A under boost.
I’ve checked everything and it hasn’t got any leaks or cracks.
Is it that my turbo is failing again as it’s only...
I might take to the tuners near me and ask them to check for a bad map, you never know what someone has previously done to it really. I've always thought a throttle body should be around 10% to 18% open on idle. Unless VW do it backwards and it's 83% closed on idle.
No leaks in intercooler and vacuum pipes look all good and electric connectios, the erratic mpg, quite substantial it seems to be intermittent this week it's been really good on fuel.
Whereas last week it did 300 miles to a full tank. Sluggish acceleration is always there though.
...- probably because of no exhaust recirculation - so not restricted there.
Have you checked for leaks in the intercoooler?

...goes into limp mode, without and apparent pattern. OBDeleven throws up many and varied fault codes, mostly relating to turbo underboost (p0299, p0236) and intake air system leaks (p2279). I have never had time to fully investigate when the fault presents, and when I have the time to...

A different fault code but good pictures of the culprit

Interested to hear how you get on replacing the turbo on your own as it's something I will likely do whenever mine goesw... good luck with it, please share how you get on!
...had the coil light show and lost all power below 2000rpm. Drives perfect after that. Just pulling away and then the light comes on. throws the P0299 code on the reader but nothing else. Checked all the standard stuff. Then I saw this thread and thought it could be that. I’ll find out over the...
Would be normal for T6 when it's at the end of regen cycle -then the distance would reset to 0 km.
Please post engine blockmap data so we can have a look into what's available - as below

I would start by checking the intercooler for a boost leak.

...I've been reading more and seen that a faulty/dirty EGR can also cause underboost so wonder if it could be that. I've found a post on a Ford forum that mirrors my issues: Towing with Ford edge 2018 sport
Interestingly in year 2, I did have some EGR codes as well:
This year it was purely P0299
...DTC's. 2017 CXEB 95k. New EGR / Cooler last year.
Any help very much appreciated
