Hi All,
I recently had my engine light come on the dash and VCDS returns the following code: P0101 00 [237] - Implausible Signal
I tried cleaning the MAF sensor with Archoil cleaner spray, I reset the code with VCDS but the engine light returned after about 20mins of driving.
So I replaced...
Update after a short drive, Carista reports:
Basic OBD2. P0101 and P0299
CAN Networking gateway. 03158
Engine: 04795, 05171 and 07144
Instrument Cluster. U112100
Battery Regulator. 02752
I’ve had the U112100 before and I think it relates to aftermarket head unit.
I also think the 03158 has been...
Indeed, the ECU doesn't agree what it sees from the sensor.
P0101 Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70)- Implausible Signal
So not likely the sensor then?
It seems that also at about 55 seconds the engine went into a kind of backup mode: closed the EGR (red curve). Probably because couldn't trust the air...
Cheers for sharing that thread.
The middle strap failing on the intercooler seems to be the common theme.
I'll get that replaced and let yous know how it goes.
Cheers
Would be helpful to know exactly which engine - the engine code on configuration sticker under dash by steering column.
Meanwhile for an engine 102 without AdBlue

Checked and shown a P0101 mass air volume out of range. Is it all related? I don’t want to drive it if it’s going to make anything worse. Saw posts which say it could be a faulty glow plug or injector.
Would be more than helpful to know which engine - the code on configuration sticker under dash by steering column?
Is it EU5 or EU6 (AdBlue)?
P0101 shouldn't relate to EGR.
This is getting weirder i think. A friend of mine has the same car so i drove to him now and put his sensor in my car, but after 2 minutes of driving the P0101 00 and P0402 00 code came back along with the flashing glow lamp.
Here is a test i did while driving
...error P0402 excessive flow EGR at first.
First Idea was that EGR would not close properly. That was checked, but EGR works fine.
Later on also P0101 was read out, suggesting a MAF sensor problem.
Now I read it may also have something to do with the DPF sensor? Or??
Thank you for your assistance!
Please check the intercooler for a boost leak

A different fault code but good pictures of the culprit...
...I've recently run into this fault.
As I was driving on Wednesday, the engine management light came on.
Using a Carista, it reported both a P0101 and 04795.
On Thursday. Given the vehicle is from 2015, I quickly replaced the Mass Airflow sensor.
It had a Bosch sensor from factory, so I...
Yes, most likely.
The fault code explanation is actually
P0101 00 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) - Implausible Signal
thus air flow seen by sensor deviates iwhat ECU is expecting - because of air leak
The oil seen is residual from crankcase ventilation. The crankcase is vented into turbo input...
