255/45/18 is an approved size, 235/55/18 also works well, either would fit perfectly on an 8 inch wide 18" alloy.

As @The Bear78 says above, 235/55s will be 4%, 26mm, about an inch bigger in diameter than the 255/45s which are almost identical in diameter as the 215/60 17s fitted to T32 vans on original Devonports. So they’ll be ~13mm/½” closer in height to, but 10mm further away in width from the wheel...

Hi, my 18" supermetal rockets are et40 albeit with 255 55's. As they are an oem supplier to vw and use standard vw bolts it was the best choice for me. On standard springs but with koni active shocks and h & r anti roll bars courtesy of CRS:thumbsup:

Bear in mind also that you may want to add roofracks, awning etc. that will add extra height (if you don't already). My van is just over 2 metres including the awning height, with the std wheels/tyres.
