IF you get fumesin the cab, it’s most likely that they have been drawn in through a vent or unsealed opening in the body. The heaters are room sealed & heat is transferred via a heat exchanger. You may get a slight “hot” smell when it first fires up, this will be dust on the room side of the...
Another split EGR, and fumesin the cab.
Another new EGR was with the courier to be delivered elsewhere for someone else. Clearly a design/manufacturer fault.
I found this thread parked up in a service station googling 'Skyline pop top opening on motorway'
It's a terrifying experience and obviously very dangerous.
It happened to me about a year ago, Skyline (who installed it) suggested user error (I strongly disagree as this is something I take very...
Dealer agreed a large discount on replacing the part today.
Explained that this was a safety issue, especially as many people may now be suffering from loss of smell so may not detect the fumesin the cab (hay fever knocks out my sense of smell, and what about Covid…!).
Clearly a poorly...
Thank you great read I will investigate whilst on my bru later on.
Thank you
Pls all keep the suggestions coming
Lol I've spent up but yes I've sent a load so far
Perhaps your van has this problem?

Driving on busy roads you are pulling in all the road pollution, just a pollen filter to take the lumps out. I tend to use re-circulation on the AC.
If...
Looks to me like the EGR flexi-pipe.

We have a very similar "sound" from our 2017 T6.1 204DSG. My wife likens it to "heavy breathing".
It's a low volume, rhythmic, deep drone that pulses approximately every second. Sometimes it's not there at all. It normally appears once the engine is warmed up and we're doing a constant speed...
When you reverse, it automatically turns on recirculation mode so it recycles the air in the cab via a flap valve, to avoid sucking in exhaust fumes. The tone of the fan changes when this happens.
As Dellmassive says you really need a second opinion.
Search for VAG or VW specialists in your area rather than just any local independent garage... at least then you know your van is in safe hands..
Been reading this....very helpful. Here’s an image of my pipe from turbo to EGR. See the black soot around the bottom right and over the gasket tab. Does that look like the same issue? I have the warning light and a smell of fumesin the cab sometimes on startup. Hissing in the engine bay and...
Can anyone please help?
I've got a 140bhp Euro 5, with the engine code of CAAC. I have noticed as of late that when I go to start the engine say in the morning, it almost struggles to catch and then finally it does.
I don't have to do it multiple times, just the once. It's almost like the...
If the roof had moved backwards the cam would engage MORE with the bars so that's not it.
Take some pics of the cam in the locked position relative to the bars as close as you can get them together when taking a pic from the side to see how far the cam overlaps the bar.
