Getting a diesel smell in the cab (2017, 56k, full camper conversion). Seems most noticeble the day after we've done a long run. Having done some reading here I assumed it was leaking rear EGR pipe. Had VW assist out and the guy's had the pipe off but can't spot a leak anywhere.
To me it does...
Thanks for all the advice, I've discovered the DPF is infact split, which explains the exhaust fumes smell in the cab. Guess that's why it's deleted on the map, previous owner probably considered it cheaper to do that then replace the DPF itself. Still would have been nice of him to tell me. Its...
For overlanding outside Europe I would tend towards Steel Rims because they would be easier to repair in 3rd World countries. Inside Europe so long wheels are readily available less of a problem. One or two spare tyres or wheels puncture repair etc, jack etc. Insulate the body.
Alu Cab make...
I've had a good dig through this thread, but nothing obvious.
My stink is back with a vengeance. As people will know, I started this thread after finding the original problem and replacing several pipes at 30k intervals, to then finally replaced the older style pipe with the newer modified...
My 2018 camper started leaking fumesinto the cab when stationary or reversing, didn’t notice it otherwise but it needed changing. It’s a DSG 150 and others have said it’s pig and I have to agree. Working from the top I could finger feel all 4 bolts and loosen 3 but the lower ‘underneath the...

my 2018 204ps on 50K miles doesnt smell anymore on Regen.

i had mine sorted on warranty - is it that?
Good evening all,
I made the mistake of having my T5.1 serviced, new intercooler and Flywheel at a main dealer..
The service was shocking and at 3.5k lighter am slightly miffed, I would go back and kick off but it was done in Guildford (closest one after channel tunnel and limp mode had kicked...

and a few others,
I’ve haven’t heard of it being an issue with a CFCA, I’ve got approx’ 56K miles on mine without issues. Possibly because there may be less vibration than other engines due to the balancer shafts.
If you’ve had an engine rebuild the leakage could be elsewhere, best find it sooner than later.
Update.
So had the front egr pipe changed today ( as well as clutch and dual mass flywheel) and has made no difference to the loud whistle I’m getting.
When changed they checked the pipe work around it and all seemed fine. Do you think it could be the rear pipe? The thing is there is no...
