So my van has a Pendle remap. The EGR valve has died. The garage says they could just do a delete but it’d need mapping out but they can’t do it as my van is already remapped. Is there now way round this or do I have to get a new EGR?
Yeah thats what it does, i think its a left over from MQB cars (similar build platform) where lots of functions are controlled by the infotainment, perhaps someone at VW forgot to delete that or make it unselectable
Excuse the repeat pictures! On my phone and it just won't let me delete them even though I edit, delete and save! I work in IT to make things even worse
I do hope that you manage to get it sorted. Not happy that people are having these things deleted for others to sort out at a later date. I was sold a Landrover with all those things things deleted, from a very well known dealer and supplier of LR's and made them take it right back after I was...
It was on recommendation from the tuner, a very a reputable one. I went for a EGR delete, engine and DSG map.
But instead left with a start/stop, adblue and EGR delete and the dsg map. Left the engine map due to the uncertainty of my turbo.
I’m afraid I can’t give any more information than...
I had exactly the same a few years back when I had some warranty work done , asked for paperwork, they said no ...took a pic of the screen with the job card on and was like I'd committed treason!
Was asked to delete all pics immediately.
The soot goes to the DPF regardless.
The EGR lowers NOx gas emissions by lowering combustion temperatures. If anything that increases the propensity for an engine to emit soot. EGR deletion does nothing to adversely affect the DPF as far as soot is concerned.
