Best wheel and tyre size for van

Cheers Bundy , hopefully replacing 255 with 255s will ensure no front tyre rub at full lock Cheers

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

235/55/18 will fit your stock 18. About DSG, I can’t notice any difference between 255/45 and 235/55. The ride quality upgrade is very noticeable.

    Advice on 255/55/18

My T32 on 235/55/18's just touch a nats on full lock, I suspect therefore 255's would properly scrub.

Going back to stock springs and shocks. How bad can it be?

I don't know why but I quoted 255 55 18s earlier  , they're actually 255 55 18 so slightly sexier and as you say slightly lower profile.

Will 255/55/18 fit on a lowered van?

Falken Wildpeak AT3Wa 255/55/18 on stock rims.

    T6.1 - 16" Clayton Poor RIde Quality

235/55 R18= 129mm sidewall 205/65 R16 = 133mm sidewall 255/35 R20 = 89mm sidewall. I can see where the ‘contradiction’ idea comes from but it’s not as straightforward as saying “the 16 inch tyre has a bigger sidewall than the 18 inch” That 4 mm is not going to make a difference. The pressure...

255/45/38 Tyre Pressures (wearing in middle)

Cheers @PaulR83 its nice to know its not just my setup then! I am running 255/45/18. How are you finding the 55 profile, does it make the ride any softer over the 45?

18” wheels but what size tyres?

I suppose only people that have tried both can make a real comparison, possibly a small number of forum members. Simply looking at the maths, 235/55 has about 7mm larger sidewall, which gives a little more cushioning...

18” wheels but what size tyres?

I still can’t decide on tyre sizes, anyone have anything more to say about the choice between 235/55/18 and 255/45/18 tyres?

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

Went all the way from 16” to 20”. Found the 235/55/18 being the best compromise with standard suspensions. And 255/45/18 best compromise with Koni shocks. I went from 16 to 18 245/55 and it was not pleasant in terms of comfort. 235/55 feels more similar to 16” 215/65.

    T32 Wheel Options.

This again.. anyway, seen some Sportlines to buy.. currently have 255/45/18’s on them.. would there be any issue in putting 235/55’s on?? Shall I go for it..?? Cheers.

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

I run 235/55/18 cross climate 104Y. The speedo match the gps. And ride quality is considerably better than my previous 255/45/18.

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

One more question. Do you have adaptive cruise control? Does it work fine with different tyre size?

    Supermetal Cell 255/55/18 or 235/55/18

...as well as adding so e additional style and open up different drive styles My question is the bf Goodrich tries, what are we all running? 255/55/18 Or 235/55/18 I've looked at online calculators but a lot of the info goes over my head. Any pics of similar setups? Also mine is 4 motion dsg...

    255/55/R18 or 235/55/R18 Tyres for a T32 4 Motion?

Hello man . I have a Vw transporter T30 with 18 rims, I have fitted tires 235 55r18 104v XL all season. Let me know please, what pressure do you use for this size? Thank you.

    Are BFG K02 really Noisy?

They're 245/65r17 - my van was low, it's now been raised back up I'd recommend 23565r17 - you'll be fine lowered by 50mm, they shouldn't rub and they're only slightly smaller than 245/65 size. If you're looking at 18" then I think 255/55 is the same size as 235/65 on 17" - or 235/55 in 18"...

18” wheels but what size tyres?

Thanks all your replies. I wondered if the ride might be a bit harsh/crashy on 255/45/18 ? My velle is on 235/55/17 at present which seems ok. Also maybe slightly better fuel consumption on the 235 than 255 ? Anyone have any info on my TPMS question?

Will 255/55/18 fit on a lowered van?

Looks good . Is that on stock suspension or lowered slightly?

    Hello from Buckinghamshire

If you go 18” consider 235/55 tyres. They make a nicer and smoother ride compared to oem 255/45/18, they are cheaper and 104H load.
