Hi Stevo, sorry for the lat response, turned out mine was the injector seals between the rocker cover and the injectors causing pooling of oil on the rocker cover above the injectors, went to a local specialist and cost around £300 all in to fix, gave up going to VW. Hope this helps
Hello all,
My t6 is passing coolant from the oil cooler, it looks to me like one of the seals/ O rings has failed. Does anyone have a diagram to make sure I order the correct part? Hopefully this will solve the issue as I don’t want to replace the full unit!

Thanks a lot...
...job as "declined, customer has own tech" - they didnt even ask me if i wanted new tyres !!
now for the real kicker. . . . Front Main OilSeal Leak !!!
and guess what "seals are not covered under all in" the chat explained.
and heres the quote they offered me . . . £1158.30...
I have a VW Transporter with the 2.5 (AXD) engine, and I have a problem with the turbo. Are there any turbo experts out there, that could help? I did an engine flush followed by a service, and ever since that I keep getting excessive oil coming from the turbo. It's absolutely everywhere (intake...
The DSG dual clutch pack, seals and gearbox cover plate are a lot more expensive than a manual dry clutch - £600 ish. The DSG clutches should last a lot longer than 80K, so unless the van has done entirely city driving, or has been absolutely thrashed, I can't see the point. if the van was on...
...shafts (that is more likely ex RAC related!), drivers door control unit (again prob RAC related), the alternator, aux tensioner, front main oilseal.... and an expensive air con pipe that got trapped and chaffed which annoyingly probably happened when the other jobs were done! I did expect...
...want to replace the head unit with an Andoid Auto one and backup camera whens funds allow!
Unfortunately I have a leak from the crankshaft oilseal, but luckily the garage I bought it from is replacing it, along with a new timing belt that I am supplying for peace of mind.
Along with the...
As @DaveD said plus engine power is lost in churning oil and there is a far greater risk of crankshaft oilseal failures which are already a weak point on the T6.
More importantly if the oil level increase is down to fuel dilution it is destroying the engine and turbochargers.
Just been informed mine is leaking as well and needs fixing at cost of £820.86 or to be precise from report
Front main crank seal leaking oil. Requires new seal, flange and other associated parts. Oil leaks aren't covered under All In Warranty
The cheeky buggers even suggested they can save me...
It was something I read on the Schaeffler Repxpert page I follow, few comments on one of there posts suggest failure.
It was more for piece of mind as the crank seal was leaking so following vw’s guide its sump off to replace seal so the oil pump belt was a 10 second job once the above was...
...valve on cylinder one was sticking so that’s been decoked and tested as fine.
While it’s been in the garage it’s developed a crank shaft oilseal leak which wasn’t there when it went in.
I really am at my wits end, the current mechanic I’m using is coming across as clueless tbh All help...
...3 years old and looking at all in plan. And i am finding it hard to come to a decision- If it you base it on vw van centre prices it’s a no brainier but if I used an independent I would probably get a better service for less money. Also the get out clauses around oilseals and dpf/egr are...
Blue smoke is burning oil.
If it had been blue smoking badly after a cold start I’d say it was probably worn / hardened valve seals.
Try taking one of the bottom hoses off the intercooler and see how much oil drains out.
If there is oil present it’s either from excessive oil carry over via PCV...
There are three possibilities for the lost oil path assuming it is not an external leak or worn valve seals.
External oil leak - very easy to eliminate by visual check.
Worn valve seals - highly unlikely unless a very high milage / old van and even then the quantity lost would be less than you...
Thanks for that. It has recently developed the weeping flywheel bolts issue but the bottom of the engine and gearbox is just damp with oil. It cant be the missing 1 or litres though. No oil underneath the van and only a damp patch on the under trays. I'll feel better once the oil analysis done...
...as it came with limited history and when inspected it looked way older than a year I decided to do it to be safe.
Genuine parts used, crank oilseal and oil pump belt done at the same time as heard a few horror stories re the oil pump belts with them being a wet belt.
Oilseal was leaking as...
