All sorted - my mistake, I thought I’d gone into workshop mode but I hadn’t, hence I didn’t get the option to delete the error message.

The soot goes to the DPF regardless. The EGR lowers NOx gas emissions by lowering combustion temperatures. If anything that increases the propensity for an engine to emit soot. EGR deletion does nothing to adversely affect the DPF as far as soot is concerned.

Hmmm.... but the DPF and EGR were deleted? Catalytic converter still in place? I guess the smell is only engine idling (would be difficult to sniff otherwise?)

Adblue --- is normally a sign it's been mapped out. Who knows what's been done. You can have the default VW engine map re flashed.... Then look at any faults there may be.

I’ve had this code on my Škoda Yeti Adblue light kept coming on too although full. Computer Scan showed faulty AdBlue pump. Had the AdBlue deleted. I’ll see if the warning comes up again .
