...(before the pop top)
Worked well for about two years then got an Aurora LWB from Skyline HQ now we hear nothing from outside with Van-X curtains and pop top down or even just the bed board down for warmth.
I’ve got deadening, sound insulation and PET thermal insulation wherever I could get it in.
...cups which have made them easier to use. I’ve only used them for two trips away but they worked great and offer full blackout and good insulation.
I’ve recently changed to a magnetic version so these are for sale.
Collection ideal as posting will be expressive vs the sale price. Might make...
The other thing that might be of concern is the type of insulation. Things like loose wool can soak and wick it up and may not easily dry out. Closed foam and similar might be better.
...in Henfield. Bilbos do good conversions but only their specific range and no options on the finish of the cabinetry, they also don’t insulate or sound deaden anywhere. Appreciate its subjective regarding the insulation and sound deadening as they aren’t unique in not doing this but worth knowing.
We have 2 of those foam/rubber camping mats on the floor under our feet if we are out in the winter just to take the edge off the cold ;) .
Otherwise despite insulating the floor it's still like ice 🥶
I have been looking at the Premium Gold underfloor insulation from Harrison, the image shows the insulation covering the whole floor.
Obviously there are many opinions on how ply floor should be fitted. How would it be fitted if this method was used?
Thanks
To replace the original damaged floor, which was well worn, I decided to get a little fancy and picked up a replacement carpet which with the insulation/soud deadening makes for quite a thick floor as I found out when putting everything back..
Hi
Does anyone use an internal pop top cover/insulator on a T6, if so how good are they at keeping the heat in when it’s cold weather. Being a newbie I’m not too sure whether it’s worth spending about £300 for one, any suggestions/advice would be fab.
Cheers
GB
Interior carpeting complete, well not the panels but the van itself is done 🎉
Next jobs on the list... add some more insulation, carpet the interior panels and sound deaden the cab
Looks like they were relocated to under the rubber floor prior to you fitting the insulation. Is there a reason why you don’t want to put them back under the floor?
That’s where mine have been for 5 years with no issues.
Not insulated for a reason? That's a new one. A properly sound deadened and insulated van is a much more pleasant place to be whether in motion or not, summer and winter. Anyone who advises against insulation, is well worth staying away from.
For me it will sound proof. You should just about manage to sound deaden and insulate with that (depending on your end goal I suppose).
Although I’d really like some led headlights too
Hi
Can I ask, if you have the space, would it be a good idea to have a thin 5-10mm layer of insulation between the metal van floor and the lithium battery and if yes what sort of insulation, would a section of foil backed camping sleep mat be ok?
I’ve got s section of this left in the garage...
...fitted a replacement sensor and problem remained.
Looked deeper into it and didn’t have voltage on the plug. Removed rubber sleeve and insulation didn’t look great. Found copper had somehow split under the insulation.
Ordered a £10 connector from Amazon, bit of soldering and heatshrink...
I think it is more that the red warning label needs to be removed too as tha5 is acting as an insulator. You are relying on the shaft of the thermal bolt to make good contact with your ring terminal. Not good.
