22 plate / 150 / manual / 2wd
Got in the van earlier today and decided to have a quick look see before going home on the state of the DPF on the Carista.
It said 29.1g soot / 87 hours and 299KM since last regen.
Thought I would keep it plugged in for the journey home as I had never seen what...
I had the same dpf code a year ago. Reason it says it's missing is cos the two pressure sensors are not noticing a difference in pressure as the dpf fills up before regen ( one before and one after dpf) mine had broken down so big hole inside so all gas going straight threw. Mpg was amazing...
Where does the soot go when not recirculated by the EGR? Through the DPF, that's where. We all know what's in store next store, don't we?
My Son found this out on his Audi A5, so fitted a Darkside DPF delete pipe as well. Obviously doing this has MOT implications, but we all know a man...
2017, it’s done 117k
I’ve had it since new
The V-bank clamp fixing the cat to the DPF pipe is sized solid too, think I can just about get a grinder in there to mutilate it into submission
The two bolts holding the DPF to not support bracket have sheared
Should get this kind of view... inside of post#2

However, using the EMBED link directly in a browser works correctly.
Afternoon all,
So I have tried tried to fit a new DPF to my van but I cannot get the old sensors out of it. I suspect as its a fail DPF they are well and truly welded in there.
The DPF I have managed to get does not have any of the senors on there, it is bare.
Please can anyone point me in...
...in principle you should do the following.
Go to Engine Control Unit(address 01), select ADAPTATION, choose "ash reset" and set it to 0.
If your DPF has been in deed cleaned successfully you should also perform "dpf forced regeneration while driving" this one is located in the ECU under...
Just wondering how many of these vans are 4motion?
I was helping a mate with a LR Evoke issue and was reading about DPF issues, and they were saying that the dpf is too far away from the engine to get hot unless on bigger distance trips. I have a CFCA 180 4m with a new engine, turbos, DPF and...
Currently investigating oil loss and paid for oil consumption test CXEB engine 204 Sportline registered February 2018 . Also lumpy start and occasional stall after engine is hot.
I don't know, unless - far fetched - but
Has the new DPF been adapted to the vehicle - i.e. ECU is aware about the DPF been replaced.
Yes, it's the normal place to detect soot passing through. See in threads below...
...decrease, or something else?
To make soot level actually decrease within passive regeneration just need to get hot enough exhaust gases into DPF to get soot burned off.
E.g. below some soot burn-off while driving was observed...
...response, above 2k rpm it takes off like a rocket. Overfueling symptoms? No noticable issues sitting at 60-70mph during regen, only if regen is still occuring at low speed.
Once DPF regen complete, normal running resumes, still achieves 39-40mpg cruising on motorway no problem.
Thanks,
Lee
...use but what a needy piece of crap!!!! Shame on EU rules and VW!
So I have changed the engine after using oil and water.....I also changed the DPF as it was blocked.
Currently the Van has 800km on the new engine and is going fine.......however on heavy acceleration and start there is black...
That's a good thing = no soot passed through the PDF.
A different case - soot registered - below:
