...on a short drive the engine management light came on. Looked at it with VCDS and had mainly the two errors P040D00 and P040C00, which are EGR temperature sensor 1 having a short circuit to plus and minus.
These seem to be infrequent errors, but the frequency at which they occurred (shorting...
I recently had an EGR delete on my 2016 T6 to try and fix my EML woes.
After reading further up on the forum, I would have probably been better (at first at least) to update the ECU to the latest version.
My question is, if I take my van to VW for the ECU update will the EGR delete be...
Hi all,
Code P0401 and engine light on - have been to three garages and all suggest EGR / cooler need replacing…….again! Last one has lasted about 10k. Engine light has turned itself off twice over last month or so lastly after not driving the van for a week but returned about 100 miles into...
I've just been querying the same thing... Had a similar response from dark side but a bit cheaper. (Presume as it's a 150 CXFA)
"The EGR Delete Kit would need to be installed, we have it listed here - £185.00+VaT - VW Transporter T6 2.0 TDI EGR and Cooler Delete Kit
Fitting Costs - £300+VAT...
I have a 2018 caravelle 204 DSG with only 21000 on the clock, which has developed a crack in the rear EGR pipe, I have called numerous local garages all of whom are busy for the next couple of weeks. So I was wondering if using the van in current state will do any further damage, obviously will...

As per link here are some Darkside Developments T5 T6 EGR cooler blanking plates for 2.0 bitdi 180 CFCA used on my engine for a few months. All good re useable condition as...
Hi Guys
Could somebody give my a heads up on the bolt sizes or types that secure the rear egr pipe.
I have a 2016 t6 Cali 204.
I will be picking up a replacement pipe(04L131521BH) with bolts and gaskets etc from my local dealer, I am not sure if I have correct size of spline sockets to hand...
Another problem with EGR on CFCA engines when winter is cold -15 celsius degrees is that engine almost always is cold even with webasto full power work.
This means driving with CFCA without EGR is very uncomfortable.
This is the reason why i'm putting back EGR on my CFCA engine with latest...
...I started losing large amounts of coolant and it took quite a few months (and the van behaving poorly) before it was diagnosed as being a faulty EGR. This was fixed just before Christmas and everything seemed ok. Then early this year the engine started making a squeaking/chirping sound.It...
Thanks for the replies.
Point taken on the recommendations.
My gut feel on the requirement of the DPF regeneration process was that the EGR would be closed to allow increased temperatures for the regen and the ECU would look for a functioning EGR before starting the regen process.
I'm...
...it’s now fixed.
I ended up taking the van back to the garage I got it from seeing as the problem started the day I bought it.
They replaced the EGR with a new vw part including all pipes etc. but the problem remained. They logged a run as they thought it was something to do with an...
Is there any reason why you would change the charge cooler at the same time as EGR cooler or would it be sensible to do the EGR first then see if it’s still losing coolant? Also if the EGR cooler is being replaced is it a good idea to do the EGR valve at the same time? @mmi @Dellmassive @Loz @Pauly
Not sure how the EGR operates temperaturewise in CFCA engine but
T6 EU6 (AdBlue) engines close the EGR (no exhaust recirculation) when it's cold.
