Infuriating Oil Change (Reduce oil level Workshop)

I've a 2021 T6.1 (only 20,000 miles), had a a few months before it's oil service became due... I did the oil service myself, as I've previously serviced our Passat and had no problems. Now, I know I made a mistake early on - I didn't do enough research and blindly followed YouTube vids claiming...

    Engine Oil Warning

Wife sent me a photo of this warning today 'Please Check Oil Level'. I'm not home yet to check or scan. Doesnt say too high or too low as the other posts I've seen. VW app says 'please add max n.a of oil. You can drive on.' EML popped up last week, VCDS shows a few electrical related fault...

CXEB… I think you know where this is going..

How are you monitoring the oil use,? VW do an oil weight test ... As oil dilution from diesel can show incorrect data. IE a clogged dpf will cause excessive regens that cause diesel to get in the oil and raise the level etc. Oil is heavier than diesel, so they add a specified amount of oil...

Oil level low, followed by low oil pressure

Check the oil level yesterday with car cold, and it was half way through the dip stick range. I have ordered a Oil pressure gauge, high pressure switch and the valve, new oil filter with seal and new oil. Im hoping by doing all of the above I eliminate the problem in a 'best case scenario'...

    VW T6

Hello All, I’ve had this message come up, I enquired from a google search with message below. The "Reduce oil level - workshop" message on a VW T6, particularly diesel models, means the engine oil level is too high and has likely been diluted by diesel fuel during incomplete DPF regeneration...

    Reduce oil level call workshop.

The software upgrade doesn't always work. 3/4 up the dipstick is too high. It needs to be about 1/3, certainly no higher than 1/2. Reducing the level to that threshold is likely the only way itll be resolved. Youre right about dilution not being the issue. Thats overstated in some quarters. I...

    204bhp CXEB specialist diesel/turbo diagnostics

Retro Resus is 127 miles away, they know their stuff and also supply engines / turbochargers. I think with that level of oil consumption you have joined the list of CXEB failures. Remapping for more power on an already unreliable highly tuned engine isn’t goint to end well I’m afraid.

CXEB Excessive oil consumption, possible solution?

If the bores are worn an oil analysis will highlight it for £45 and no spanner work. The iron and soot levels will be very high.

T6.1 Reduce Oil Warning - Warranty Implications

Apologies, I didn't realise youre an overseas member. These vans are very sensitive to oil level. The on board display can lie and tell you the oil level is too high and need reducing, when actually it doesn't. Keeping the oil no more than half way between the MAX and MIN dipstick mark often...

    Intermittent fault after EGR removal

For the engine to run at high speed without applying the accelerator it suggests that excessive fuel, lube oil or some other flammable chemical is entering the combustion chamber. Have you checked that the crankcase oil level isn’t too high?

T6.1 Reduce Oil Warning - Warranty Implications

Was the actual oil level high on the dipstick? Theres a multitude of possible issues. Over zealous spanner jockeys filling right to the top of the dipstick (half way up is ideal), lying oil level sensors (can sometimes be addressed with a software update), and lastly genuine oil dilution (the...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

I have the same fault with oil levels too high...and also same issue getting oil out of the sump. I bought a syringe with 5mm tube...went down nice and easy but have only managed to withdraw about 50ml oil. At first it was like an air lock and syringe wouldn't go up...now its just drawing up...

    Diesel mixing with oil

Hi all, I have a VW transporter T6.1 on a 2020 plate which has done 83k. In recent weeks I’ve encountered an issue with high oil level and diesel mixing with the oil. Initially I thought it was the problem relating to the DPF regen. But after a couple of visits to my local garage one to do a...
