Hi, son's '17 Caddy Mk4 2.0litre. He managed to hole the sump recently so it's had new sump, oil and filter a couple of weeks ago. CEL on today, oil pressure switch according to OBD11, also oil level seems a bit high. Would you suck a bit out?

How are you monitoring the oil use,? VW do an oil weight test ... As oil dilution from diesel can show incorrect data. IE a clogged dpf will cause excessive regens that cause diesel to get in the oil and raise the level etc. Oil is heavier than diesel, so they add a specified amount of oil...

Retro Resus is 127 miles away, they know their stuff and also supply engines / turbochargers. I think with that level of oil consumption you have joined the list of CXEB failures. Remapping for more power on an already unreliable highly tuned engine isn’t goint to end well I’m afraid.

If the bores are worn an oil analysis will highlight it for £45 and no spanner work. The iron and soot levels will be very high.

For the engine to run at high speed without applying the accelerator it suggests that excessive fuel, lube oil or some other flammable chemical is entering the combustion chamber. Have you checked that the crankcase oil level isn’t too high?
