Orion DC-DC and lithium - low charge rate

Hi all, I've just had to replace my leisure battery after 8 years of service and I went for a Fogstar Drift 105Ah lithium battery. I have a Victron Orion 18A DC-DC charger which I set the profile to LiFePO. I can see the Orion kicking in with input voltage at 14.4V and output at 14.2V in the...

Not sure how I can tell the older version compared to the newer one ? Otherwise does the kit look suitable for what I’m trying to achieve ?

Fogstar 230ah seat base battery set up help

You may not want that kit. You’d need to check to be sure but it looks to me like the older version of the orion DC-DC which was a rare miss from Victron - it was much lower efficiency than almost any other DC-DC out there and so ran extremely hot.

    Lead to Lithium ?

It most probably is as you drive with a split charge relay which aren’t brilliant. Better off with a Victron Orion 50 amp dc to dc charger.

    Hillside Birchover

First time posting here, I picked up a 2024 Birchover a couple of weeks ago and on the whole I’m well chuffed, I had the fit a lithium battery and Victron Orion DC>DC, works a treat. Just trying to learn the van and followed most the posts on here, question I’ve got is does the solar to leisure...

Victron Orion Smart bluetooth always on

I am installing a Victron Orion TR smart isolated dc-dc. Just a quick question, should the bluetooth always be switched on, I thought it would switch off when the remote is switched off. I have pin H connected to a switched live, but when the ignition is switched off the bluetooth stays active.

    Victron Orion XS

Evening collective I'm currently replacing my DC DC kit. Do I need to run an ignition live to the XS? I have one there as the Renogy kit needed one. But I'm a bit confused reading the installation manual Cheers

    Which low-mid range lithium battery?

Not absolutely necessary, you can use the engine running detection feature, I tried it and wasn’t happy with the functionality, it was a bit of an unknown quantity. So I went down the ignition live route and am happier for it.

2018 T6 Factory Leisure Battery Question

That's the factory leisure setup. With the OEM split charge relay, and fuse. That's what I had.....I removed the relay and fitted a DC DC. Charger. Replaced the fuse and battery. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/stop-start-regen-smart-alternator-dc-dc-charger-for-leisure-battery-or-not.6954/...

2018 T6 Factory Leisure Battery Question

Ok, looks like a standard factory leisure battery setup with 80A fused feed so you are good to go. The wires going into the relay are: 1) Positive in (from starter) 2) Positive out (to leisure via fuse) 3) Engine run signal (small black wire) 4) Ground These connections are all your DC-DC...

    DC-DC Trickle Charger

The Ablemail would be perfect for your setup. Cost about £65. They are tiny, really simple to fit and very effective. It’s just 3 wires attached to the Victron DC-DC - one to the positive input from starter battery, one to the positive output to the leisure battery and one to the negative. They...

Should I upgrade/replace my electrics? - Complete Newbie to T6

Thanks for the updates, I appreciate it. I have decided to keep the battery for next few month and spend on other things on my ever growing list (I'm sure you guys know what that's like!) Anyway I do have a question regarding the DC-DC charger... my friend has a Renogy 50A DC-DC Charger with...

Victron 75/15 BT with Orion B2B

Greetings. As I run an AGM leisure battery, and the van sits for sometimes a week at a time without moving, I want to keep the leisure battery topped up when not driving, so it’s pretty much always ready to go. I currently run a victron Orion BT non isolated. That sits on a board in front of...

    Orion 12/12/18 keeps switching off

As per this heavily supported install thread- https://www.t6forum.com/threads/l-battery-go-large-or-go-lithium.52433/page-26 I seem to have a new problem. whilst driving approx 2 hrs motorway. Noticed LB charger to up from nearly nothing to 39%, and then no further. Further investigation I...

    Which Leisure Battery?

@Dellmassive That's a very useful post! May I ask, how would you wire the output of the inverter to a CBE socket for neatness? Would you wire up a 3-pin plug with a flying lead to the back of the socket?
