...about it constantly!) To purchase some wheels. I have finally decided on some Fuel zephyrs but can't decide on what size tyres! Do I go 235/65/17 or 245/65/17?! The 235 will obviously mean less error on Speedo and less gearing etc issues, but I keep thinking will the 245 fill the arch more...
With a set of 17” Davenport’s could I fit a set of BFG 225/65/17’s without any lift/modification?
Would 235/65/17 or 245/65/17’s fit on the same rims and again without a lift/modification?
Hi after a bit of info going to change from 20s to 17 steels was going for 235/65/17 rubber on standard height suspension on a T32 van will i need spacers or not lots off info already about but conflicting
Many Thanks
Simon
Most of our 235 tyres are fitted to aftermarket rims. The factory davenport wheel is 7" wide, so technically a 235 is slightly too wide, but will work fine with no problem. A 225/65/17 will work perfectly on the factory wheels.
Are your current tyres 235/55 r17? If so, then the 225/65 r17 will be 4.6% bigger and will fit no issues - your speedo should also read correctly if it's the normal 67mph at 70mph under reading.
There are 235/65 BF Goodrich K02's but they're not speed rated. 245/65 should fit on std suspension...
Hello all, I need some advice from those who have already done this, experience counts above all else where wheels and tyres are concerned,
I’ve taken the plunge and purchased some 17” wheels. Genuine VW items. 8X15
They’re originally for an Amorak and going on a T32.
I’m after some...
yes indeed if you look at my old wheels those were 235/55 18 tyres and they fill the arches nice.
For the 17's i would opt for 225/6517 that's even slightly bigger. Since i'm running coil overs and wanna keep the lowered swamper look, i'm not going for 235/6517. Changes for rubbing are greater.
