Timing Belt - Safe or risking it?

I didn’t know the pump drive was via a wet belt until recently - seem to be lasting better than the hex bit drive in the early 2.0tdi’s as I’ve never read of a failure!

    Squeaking/chirping noise - ? Ac compressor

Similar; however mine was the cam belt idler pulleys. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/cambelt-water-pump-replacement-official-guidance.16418/page-40 It would be easier to rule the A/C compressor in or out by running the engine with the aux belt removed. Is this good service history for 67,500 T6 204PS

...I’d gamble the 1st owner traded it in before the DSG was due and the garage never picked up on it. Then the selling garage probably did the cambelt to aid resale. Then it looks like it’s sat around, so 2nd owner come to sell and been told about the DSG, so it got it done. But then given the...

    Cam Belt Change requirement

VW recently changed their position on cambelt replacement and now recommend the cambelt is changed every 140k (they also dropped any time-based criteria). https://www.t6forum.com/threads/cambelt-water-pump-replacement-official-guidance.16418/post-602442 I'm sure most on here would caution...

Big service quote, am I being ripped off?

Did they even ask if cambelts been changed? I had egr pipe replaced on last van for not much over £250 if I remember rightly and a full service for just over £300 using all genuine parts from my local indie I’d be picking van up and moving on for another inspection and quote
