Walthamstow London garages: Shiv, Highams Park or Westside motors experiences welcomed?!

...Park Motor Co. Highams Park Motor Company – The only alternative to a main dealer… The BMW & German Car Specialists Just got Filters, Cambelt, Pump, Oil change. They looked at service history and were clear about what should be looked at next and what urgency... or not was needed. Didnt try...

    Cambelt fitting advice please

That is real shocking paranoia. Before coming to this forum I never heard of any commercial vehicle HAVING to do the belt thay early. BTW I never heard of a VW Transporter with a failed timing belt, so it was probably olny a service mismanagement issue that now VW has corrected. Any decent...

Oil Service & Inspection Due - Help please…

Cambelt was last done in feb 22 by Salop vans, at around 105k (going by the mot mileage 3 days before it was done) so would I be right in thinking there’s about another year until it needs doing? Although I guess they’ll let me know what sort of condition it’s in at the major service.

VW T6 No start but cranking

Thanks for the log. Below GREEN=good, RED'ish=bad It seems the ECU tries to drive fuel pressure regulator valve (IDE07822) when cranking as expected. However, the logged current (IDE05632) should peak to 500-700 mA to build up the pressure when cranked. Now nothing happens. Also at the rest...

    Engine life in miles

...before being converted to a camper 2 years ago. I’ve seen the service history and it’s seems to have had everything needed done including cambelt when conversion was done. Only thing niggling me is that it has 149k on the clock. Anything I should look out for tomorrow? I assume that if week...

    Timing belt change

https://www.t6forum.com/threads/cambelt-water-pump-replacement-official-guidance.16418/page-37 There is plenty of info in the search, perhaps too much - I think you will find post #726 is still the definitive answer. Personally I am not sure I would wait 28 years (as I cover approx 5000 miles...

Is it worth getting a poptop installed in a high mileage van?

Ouch, has it escaped further damage? Let us hope so, no idea the expense and difficulty. Really sorry to hear that just as you where considering expanding the leisure side of things .:(

    Are they really worth £40k

...£40k for a decent spec 2022 plate? Reliability seems to be hit and miss reading the forum (But then so does every car after 2015) What issues could I inherit and what to look out for? I guess FSH, DSG serviced at 40k and Cambelt at 5 years should be the minimum requirements. Cheers in...

    Cam Belt Change requirement

My 2018 DSG has just hit 140K. It's an ex rac with full history and nothing to say cambelt has been changed, I've not got any issues with it but I've been thinking about getting it done just as a precaution as only just bought it. But now I've seen the official 140K deffo getting it done so...

    Hi. New owner....

...I had t4s years ago but moved on to Toyotas. I'm looking for recommendations in Yorkshire for a few things I'd like doing. I want the cambelt changing, the vans on 82k miles, is it worth doing the crank seal as well? I'd like cruise control, either on the steering wheel or stalk so any...

    T6 brake servo removal

...turned up today so had to get nylon block out of pedal, used a wood chisel and pushed it in between block and pedal and levered it out no damage so reused it. Servo fitted and master cylinder back in place. EGR, turbo pipe some wiring and cambelt cover to replace then could be ready to go. Baz

    Vibration 1600/2000rpm 140PS DSG

I have a 2016 t6 t32 140 euro 5, 6 speed manual 51k miles. I have the same problem at 1800revs. It's been doing it for the past week. I am booked in at the dub doctor for a cambelt and pump service in March, he said he will investigate the rev issue. I will let you know if he finds anything.

    T6 50,000 mile service

...And having watch some videos on YouTube I believe the EGR valve, Clutch & Fly wheel need doing? My T6 is 10 years old and had the cambelt done before I bought it. The previous owner had an interim service done before and everything was aparantly fine, however I want it to have the best...
