How many 199’s were built v how many are problematic? You only hear of the ones that go wrong.
Could be less than 5%??
My mate has a 2010 180bi-turbo. Ok it had a EGR valve done at 80k miles but is now on 200k miles and still pulling like a train.
Pays ya money, takes y chance as they say...
My mate has had a 10 plate T5.1 from new. 180Bi Turbo. Only issue he’s had is the old (now updated) EGR. That’s was replaced years ago!
He travels back and forth from he’s 2nd home in Wales and is still fine. Out of the 1000’s built you’ll only hear about ones that go wrong.

Seen a van I like, and it’s advertised as bi turbo with 150bhp, is this right?, I though only the 180 and 204 were bi-turbo
Next question, are they any good?
...has been great, regularly serviced but no major money spent in the 3 years I've owned it and its on 150K miles....
The case against the T5 180bi-turbo seems to be completely unquestionable but I have not seen anything convincing for our T6s. As said earlier I think the extra cost of repairs...

As per link here are some Darkside Developments T5 T6 EGR cooler blanking plates for 2.0 bitdi 180 CFCA used on my engine for a few months. All good re useable condition as...
...in with the gases. If you remove the EGR cooler or pipes you will likely fail an MoT as it's obvious you have tampered with the emissions system.
