My van’s a 102 5 speed with a davtec remap - not sure what it’s gone up to with the remap but it’s powerful enough for my needs even as a fully loaded campervan.

Plenty of info on the Forum about 102 remaps. Some good experiences and some not so good. I pootle around at about 55mph most all of the time (after a lifetime of 140mph stupidity for a living) so a remap doesn't work for me. Lorry drivers love me, I can tell you.....

I’ve got 102 but had it remapped to 150bhp and it’s flying now. If I had the choice now it would be the 150bhp standard and 6 speed manual box

Depending on the year, a remap may not be possible. Go for a LWB, you'll regret a SWB once you try to fit everything in.

You just answered my previous question, almost undoubtably so depending on how you drive it. More power requires more fuel, more exhaust gases, higher turbocharger RPM. Less reliability, keep on top of the oil changes.

It sounds like it could be your clutch/flywheel? Remaps on the 102 need to be lower torque for the 5 speed box. Did it do it before the map?
