I’m looking at a 2015 trend line campervan. It had 102 hp and has been remapped to 180. I don’t know who did the remap, this seems like a big hike to me, does this sound like a reasonably safe remap. Don’t want a van with the gearbox over worked

I had a t5.1 ,102 5 speed box and had it remapped and it destroyed flywheel and gearbox ,was remapped to 160 ,way to much torque through gearbox as they are weak .

That's interesting, mine is 84 and got a customer with 102 camper and when I drive that it feels pretty much the same as mine. I just thought it was in my head

Yes it has been fine, got my 102 5 speed taken up to 140 and massive difference , got it done at HTS, think it was around £300

Yeah so I did a blanking kit from dark side. And I got a remap to close the port it was pretty dirty and if you just did the remap then you can’t be certain it isn’t open a bit. Hence getting both done. Also had a remap from 102 to around the 160 figure. Runs like a dream!

As above. Chris @Dav-Tec remapped my 5 speed 102 and made it much better to drive. Climbing when loaded a much less stressful experience. Well within the limits not chasing bhp but we reckon we ended up 165/170. 102 to 204? Sounds unlikely. But speak to Chris and think you will get good...

As far as I know an 84 is a detuned 102. 102's are quite commonly tuned to 140.you should be ok

What gearbox do you have, 5 or 6 speed?

150 is a sensible figure. Well within what tuners recommend as max on the 5 speed drivetrain. My old 102 5 speed was mapped to 180 and didn't destroy itself.

Just had ours done, it's all done on laptop which includes an engine remap. Power increased from 102 to 160 hp
