2017 204 oil consumption issues [Resolved]

The EGR system is feeding carbon back through the engine, add the high boost pressure from a bi-turbo engine and some of the carbon is bound to be forced past the compression rings and into the oil control rings. Once the oil control rings are fouled and no longer free to move it’s game over...

    T6.1 Reduce Oil warning

The amber oil 'too high' warning light has recently happened to me. Having travelled around 60 miles on A1 it appeared on the dash. Checked level when cool the next day and it was perfect Max. It appeared again around 3 days later having travelled around 60 miles home on the A1. Van only...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

Well TBF I agree Sasquatch, specifically with the term 'excessive'. Although (sorry..certainly no offence) I perhaps don't advocate taking a big slug of oil out so that the oil is halfway down the dipstick (certainly on my own van, or any of my vehicles). As an engineer, having worked on my own...

T6.1 BiTDI 204 power at higher ambient temperature

This sounds really similar with what I experienced today. In 30 -33 degrees of heat, all temps getting very hot, at altitude, at around 1500m above sea level up a dual carriageway across the Swiss Alps - Albeit towing a 2 ton load caravan. Van is a 2022 T6.1 199 (Although VW seem unsure if it...

[T6_measured] 01-Engine - Oil pressure switches & Oil level sensor

How about this link (post#23) https://www.t6forum.com/threads/t6_measured-01-engine-oil-pressure-switches-oil-level-sensor.29978/post-513433 Yes, correct. However, you should check their response to the oil pump PWM signal duty cycle - e.g. picture 4 in post#1 - by quickly flooring the throttle...

Oil Analysis shows high levels of Iron

The EGR is re-circulating exhaust gases containing soot which in turn lower the combustion temperature creating more soot. When the EGR valve eventually gets seized open it will pass re-circulate exhaust gases whether the ECU calls of it or not. High boost pressure push blow-by gases past the...

Morning All and thanks for accepting me in to this forum, new the VW world, i have a T28 2021 (T6.1 i think) and am after a little advice if no one minds. Oil Sensor Issue - B104129/B104135 - New Instrument Cluster?

Sorry, new to all this, how do I make a log to find the glitches? The engine seems to be reporting the oil temp between 98 and 115 on the last few runs on the MFD. I'm not sure, how do I tell? Sorry, not sure! I'm assuming just the wriing near the sump and where it joins near the left wheel...

    Oil level too high’ warning

The Mrs has been to our local VW dealership this morning to get a new key coded that we ordered in a few weeks ago, he has told her the oil level is too high in the van and that this is as bad as driving round with not enough oil in. We have not had any warning signs on the dash board or...

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

Hey, I may have the start of these issues with a newish can (to me) sad times) van. It’s got 97k, I’ve got someone coming to clean the DPF on Tuesday, can I ask how many people who were out of warranty were successful at getting VW to part pay for a replacement engine and labour due to all of...

DPF Regen Until Soot Level >8g

It can go about 150-200 miles to reach 24g for regen, soot seems to collect around 0.1g every couple of minutes urban (very roughly) and slower on motorway. Engine seems OK, starts and runs fine. Actually its a brand new engine installed about 12k miles ago by previous owner (as well as clutch...

Oil level too high warning… AGAIN

I've had my 22 plate T6.1 campervan since April, bought from the convertors with only a few miles on it. It has now done 6000 mies, and the oil level warning came on today, while driving round the North of Scotland (why is it always there when things happen?). The oil level is not high, so is it...

    New steering rack

Had my steering rack replaced week beginning 1st July. Over the last three weeks I’d noticed a noise from ( what I thought was ) the suspension. Windows shut, air con on, problem solved. I’d also paid about £60 because my oil level was apparently too high ?? Short journeys I was told. I can...

Oil Analysis shows high levels of Iron

No I haven't taken it any further but need to investigate further a few fault codes, one of which is egr related. However since changing the oil and having driven around 2k miles it has not used any significant amount of oil.

    T6.1 Reduce Oil warning

Is it an over pressure light that’s on or is it the “oil level too high”? Oil level too high does usually point to the sensor being overly sensitive and not taking the oil expansion in to account. Once you complete the process in the video you should cure it. It’s hard to tell you what to do...

    T5.1 CAAC engine noise

Hi, Can anyone offer any advice please? I am completely baffled by the noise that is made when I start my 2010 T5.1 2.0 140bhp CAAC engine I have linked a video. iCloud Photos - Apple iCloud There was a coolant leak which a reputable VW garage advised was a crack in the cylinder head, this...
