I’ve looked through the engine manual, and this is what it says about fitting a new turbo, so that’s what I’m going to do.
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– Observe tightening sequence for turbocharger ⇒ page 215 .
– Renew seals, gaskets, O-rings and...
Had a service and MOT under my extended warranty and diagnosed a Main crank oilseal leak.
VW Alan Day has said the below come back from VW.
Has anyone successfully appealed this?
They want a bag of sand to do it ffs.

The rectification of oil leaks is not covered under this...
Front main seal is about a £1k job from VW.
It's covered on the main 1st 3yr warranty.
And covered on the factory 4/5th year warranty.
But it's not covered under the ALL-IN waranty. (All oil leaks are exempt)
Fairly common on the T6 engines.
What year is your T6.1? .... What engine...
The oil looks to originate from the intercooler hose .
It had a new turbo fitted about 10 weeks ago along with new cooler pipe seals and one of these has been mangled during fitting .
Took cooler out and drained it , rebuilt using new seal and will give it a go .
Anyone that bought a VW without noticing the running costs - got to find the extra cash for the regular DSG Oil/Dual Mass Flywheel/Water Pump/Crankcase oilseal somewhere...
...you can see how wet / dry it is, how much oil is passing the PCV.
I think if your PCV was restricted you may have issues with crankshaft oilseal leakage.
As yours is a CXEB there’s obviously the concern that it’s just another CXEB engine failure. Do the blow-by gases smell of exhaust gases...
Hello all,
Didn't see this discussed before but noticed I have an oil leak from a large oilseal on the LH side of the DSG. There is a capped oilseal near the gearbox mount that's weeping.
Is this a gearbox out job or can it be changed in situ. ?
Cheers.
I had mine done. At the time.
But didn't make any noticeable difference.
But as you say, best to keep them happy when you have the extended warranty.
Though saying that. I doubt it would be a problem if you politely declined the offer.... The AC is a sealed system, if it works, then you are...
Hi all, looking for some feedback/experience from the group.
I’ve got a 2020 T6.1 Transporter (CXHA 150 Engine, 6-speed manual) with low mileage (15,000 miles) campervan. We had it from brand new. It's not a daily driver just for the camping trips, hence low mileage.
Before April, I noticed a...
The two jobs aren't related so you could do the crank pulley oilseal now and get the dmf done at a later date.
make sure you get the water pump done when they do the crank pullley and timing belt.
It would be a good idea to replace the clutch components at the same time as the DMF.
It still seems utterly stupid to not to change the filter. The cost of filter and seal ring is circa £50. Considering the cost of a replacement gearbox the additional expense of the filter is not worth thinking about.
I have said before on this forum that I undertake the DSG oil service every...
You say the noise is when pulling away, is that the only time? If so, I doubt there is a boost leak.
Your oil leak, is it black oil? It looks like it is, so probably leaking from the seals around the injectors.
...out in 2023.
So your now bought a 2year plan... Assuming ALL-in?
Engine mount is covered under the warranty (,I had mine done)
Crank main oilseal is comon... But not covered under all in, no oil leaks are..... But that quote sounds high... The job needs to have the timing belt off...
Had same issue. Tricked me into thinking it was the oil filter housing - swapped that, but still found puddle of oil. Changed can cover gasket, injector seals, retainer bolt seals, and all clean now.
Dip it and wipe dozens of times to get rid of the oil emulsion in the tube, then the true colour of the oil in the sump should show.
Could the dip stick have been not fully plugged home, so the O ring seals, allowing crankcase to breath up the tube?
I get mayonnaise in the filler tube in the...
Noticed spots of oil in the garage so, over time I kept an eye on it. It has got a little worse but not drastically worse.
Called up Fullers and chatted to there mechanical department, without quibble they said bring him in at my convenience to get it sorted (dropped off this past Friday...
