    Wonderful...or Woeful?

2016 180PS Kombi 76K miles. Corrective work to date on the vehicle as it was built; 1. Both front fog lights, water ingress, drilled, dried and re-sealed. 2. NS sliding window leaking, sealed up permanently. 3. 2x wheel speed sensors defective, renewed. 4. One MAF sensor fault, single instance...

    CXEB PCV blocked / broken

When I opened it I immediately had Vapor blowing out, but when I place my palm over the hole, I found feel a slight vacuum, to my knowledge that shows the PCV is working, and that my oil “consumption” will most likely be via the front and rear crank seals.

Oil leak? Anyone know what this might be?

It could be oil from higher up that's dribbled down, although the photo is suggestive of a blown front crank seal. The only way youll know for sure is to delve in for a closer look.

    Rear main seal replacement?

Yes it's definitely engine oil. The bolt holes for the flywheel go through to the engine. So what you can see through the bolt hole is the inside of the engine. When the flywheel comes off, surplus oil leaks through the bolt hole and onto the seal area so you have no way of knowing whether the...

    DSG Leak?

you will need to clean the area with brake clean and test drive. to see where its coming from. if DSG it could be: drive shaft seal, oil cooler seal, case crack, other. if else where, and coming from the bell-housing join - possible rear main crankshaft seal. other,

Cambelt + Water Pump Replacement - Official guidance

Oil pump belt change so early is nice precaution measure but maybe a bit of an overkill. Unbelievable prices comparing to the cost of the service parts but that what you pay for an hour for the work.

    CXEB PCV blocked / broken

No idea if £260 is a good price, Google comparison would tell. I’ve fixed PCV that have been leaking (not T6) but the only way I can see one causing over pressure is through being sooted up and that must be down to excessive blow-by gases. Excessive blow-by would be down to worn cylinders /...

    Oil Leak + Damaged Intercooler

...this system isn’t just clean air — it also contains a fine oil mist from the turbo. There are two main sources of that oil: Turbocharger oil seals: The turbo’s bearings are lubricated by engine oil under pressure. Over time, a small amount of oil can seep past the turbo’s internal seals...

Oil leak? Anyone know what this might be?

...I don’t know about all engine derivatives). There has been some recent discussion about changing this small wet belt when doing the front oil seal as the mechanic will have direct access to it. Failures are not something you hear much about unlike Ford Transits! Do some google research on...

    CXEB PCV blocked / broken

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I believe both crank oil seals are leaking and I’m not particularly looking forward to sorting them out, I’ll be removing the sump to do it properly. I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy an endoscope for a while now, too. I’ve got a price for the cam cover from...

    Oil leak but from where?

Hi I have an engine oil leak coming from under my Van but cannot work out where it is coming from? It appears to be coming from between the sump and gearbox joint, possibly the hole on the sump side to gearbox but cannot be 100% sure. Oil does not appear from any higher than the top of the...

    DSG leak

With me VW don't repair staff, they only fit no. And as I was in warranty they fitted I new gearbox. But if I was out of warranty then I would look at having it repaired.. The name issue and TPI covers a crack in the casting.. by a bolt hole, so if the oil appears to be leaking from a boat...
