I enquired about this. I was told that it only works with certain head units and has to be ordered from the factory then need an activation key. I have the composition media with app connect and they can't do it apparently.

To me it looks like your dealer messed up your FEC codes. If you have your own VCDS or you could ask someone local to help you it would be worth to check what SWaP codes are active on your unit. Also have a look here ---> Infotainment Fec/swap

Hi My dealer is quoting £168.07 + VAT to install the activation code for APP connect on the Discover Media unit of my T6. Is there any other way of doing this? Or am I tied in to the dealer? cheers Jim

Despite reading up on here and reading the VW websites/manuals etc I still can’t really believe they are charging so much money for something with such little functionality but the fact that I have it and still can’t work it out says a lot I think. IMO app connect is expensive but is worth it...
