I know your pain!! My diagnosed EGR failure turned out to be a leaking coolant pump. VW jump straight to EGR failure for coolant loss - feels like a good money spinner.
Interesting. Not an expert, but would you try to explain the science behind your thesis of EGR helping to produce better torque at lows? More intake pressure (while warmer and with less oxygen)? Or is it another internet myth?
Hi all
Had my egr blanked and mapped out for the obvious reasons, im away on the first trip and I have noticed that the van is using massive amounts of adblue ie started with 5000 miles range, I have covered 700 miles and it is down to 2000 miles range so at this rate it is going to be using...
Noticed my van has the EGR disabled with no warning lights. Can I simply plug it back in. I would have thought, it had been closed via software then unplugged to stop a further signal operating it again or am I completely wrong?
Around Christmas I had a bad leak, 350ml per 300miles. After reading all the possible egr issues, I didn’t drive it until it could be investigated further by the local garage and booked in with VW incase of egr, hopefully on all in warranty. Turned out to be a aux radiator with debris damage...

it's good point. not yet.
I checked here and there but it looks like the cooler will be provided with EGR valve packaging only and not stand alone, unless I take it as refurbished one.
There are several options (and different prices) in the market to buy the EGR with cooler... I would avoid...

I have just changed my egr valve (about 1000km since) and since that my glow plug lamp and engine lamp keeps flashing 1-3 times a day. What can be the problem?

When I had my coolant loss issue it took VW 4 months to come to the conclusion that it was the coolant pump - this afternoon they had replaced the EGR!!! At considerable cost. After the EGR replacement the van went back to VW 3 more times with yet more coolant loss before they found the leaking...
...do seem to be posting a lot. A new T6 owner... !I hope this will calm down at some point. You might recall that my partner was sold a T6 with an EGR valve/cooler made almost entirely of coal.
The business refused to accept a return (and my partner is a business, not a consumer) so now she...
