Hi - I had a code, P0401 EGR 'A' flow insufficient detected. Low milage (35k) but recently lots of shorter journeys and it's 8 years old so I just replaced with a new Valeo EGR. It is a CAAC engine (no adBlue). Reset codes, bled coolant and it was fine for 200 miles or so. The engine was mapped...
Well removing egr without adblue+dfp is like washing your butt, but putting on dirty pants again)
All 3. Agrdpfscr) no way around it or
1. DPF
2. Egr
3. ADBLUE
4. More power
5. GEARBOx adaptation
How we are talkin)
Update:
So after renewing Egr and both Egr pipes the light stayed out for around 2000 miles! Then boom, back on same po40100 code. Inspected pipes, no carbon. Doesn’t use any oil, no soot in dpf. Tried fuel system cleaner, run higher quality fuel. Driven down to Spain and the bloody light is...
...caravan with my T6 to London for half term when, after a comfort break, I lost power on M1. Long story short, Breakdown recovery towed us back to Derbyshire. The EGR front pipe had 'unwelded' itself. Can anyone recommend a reputable VW garage in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire please?
Many thanks.
...in the journey the code stopped coming up and was replaced with a P245700 code that then kept coming up in relation to the temperature of the EGR cooler.
The seller of the van a few days ago advised it is running a stage 1 map that includes the deletion of the EGR from the ECU. EGR blanks...
My t6.1 was losing approx one litre of coolant every 600 miles as I’ve been monitoring it after a egr flush, finally after being at the dealers for four weeks they’ve installed a new egr under warranty. Now I thinking should I delete it the egr (remap)to stop it happening again which it...
Looking likely that the some part of my EGR system is going to need changing, now the emissions warning light is permanently on.
Since is a 2018 204ps CXEB engine, I'm paranoid that throwing away a large fee on the EGR is a waste, if the engine block is going to need changing.
Am I causing...
...all was well.
Today, it was a 160 mile job. I got a few miles from Turnberry and it started to splutter and a few codes came up relating to the EGR, MAF and Crank sensor.
I carried on in the vain hope I could limp it back to Edinburgh with 4 passengers and their luggage. I had to get the...
There are only two hoses on the EGR cooler.
If you run the engine without coolant on the EGR cooler it will overheat and buckle, it will definitely leak then.
Well, it's EGR time again!
I bought the van nearly 5 years ago at ~99000 miles. I'm sure I saw a receipt for a new EGR' in the paperwork but I can't find it now. Either way, the date of manufacture of the old (aftermarket) EGR is 2018 and the van (Euro 5, 140) was registered in January 2016...
...Seems to be running OK but a bit of rough idling I guess (but nothing major). I rang the code check and got back p0401 - insufficient air flow EGR. So I guess the EGR is blocked or the value is faulty?
Hefty quote for the mechanic. Wondering if I need to bother to replace the EGR or I can...
If a double like is possible this one deserves it. Needs to be copied and pasted into every EGR / charge cooler leaking discussion.
In industrial heat exchangers there are flexible packings and in some cases sliding mounts that deal with thermal expansion, the auto world design engineers don’t...
I took it for an MOT. Passed without any issues. Still got the engine light on the dash. Apparently the EGR and Air Mass Flow are reading ok so there’s nothing serious. I’m told that it might be that the EGR needs cleaning or replacing. If it’s coming out to get cleaned I’ll go with replacing...
Just a warning, the VW dealer MOT examiner failed me as my egr was blanked off. I'm pretty bloody certain no other MOT tester in the country would though. Why would they even look at the egr pipework?
I had to replace the small pipe which I'd luckily kept and do the old coke can blanking mod...
...leaks and stains with the trusty brake cleaner to find the sources, I have ran into another issue....
I noticed one of the bolts behind the EGR pipe(?) was soaked in oil. I thought right away that the joint might have split at the flange and it's leaked onto the bottom bolt. I went to take...
Your EGR insufficient flow fault requires either an 'EGR flush' or replacement, depending on who you use for repair (Flush is usually a dealer repair, as most independents don't have the correct tooling)
The P046C00 fault can be ignored.
Hi, I'm about to do a preventative EGR strip out and clean at 45k miles on my 2019 CXEC bi-turbo. Trying to obtain correct pipes before I start as these will be replaced whilst I'm at it. I understood the rear pipe was upgraded to a cast design with part number 04L131521BH. However the VW bot as...
