Hi. I’ve got a 67 plate Kombi, CXGB 102PS that’s had a history of EGR fault codes ‘insufficient flow’. It came to the end of an extended VW warranty in May and the dreaded amber warning light (exhaust fault) has just reappeared.
I’m the second owner; I bought it at 3.5 years old with 77k on the...
Hi,
I have a transporter T6 CXHA engine need a new EGR valve as its leaking been told by a machanic that a pierburg EGR is a good brand to go for i'm not replacing the cooler just the EGR
Its going to cost £740 for parts and labour is that the going rate?
...think anything of it as no dashboard fault light.
Today I was under the bonnet with the engine running and got a whiff of fumes and noticed a sooty mark on the front egr stainless pipe.
I’m wondering if the fault is because the pipe is leaking or the pipe is leaking because something is...
Hello, We've been loosing coolant so last week had our EGR value & cooler replaced. We also had water pump and cam belt done at the same time so an expensive job. This was 6 days ago and were still loosing coolant. Checked coolant level this morning and a hiss came from the cap upon release. Any...
Hi folks. We’re having persistent issues with the EGR system in our 2019 T6 which has just clocked 90k miles. At first the glow plug light would switch off after a good motorway run. But now it comes on shortly after starting driving and stays on, accompanied by the engine management light which...
Hi, Looking for a quick bit of help...
I'm planning to swap out my current EGR cooler for a new one. I have identified the correct Valeo Cooler which comes with 2 gaskets for the unit but i also need a gasket for the rear pipe where it connects near the exhaust temperature sender. The garage...
I'd assume you have to blank off the front and rear EGR exhaust pipe connectors.
For off road use obviously, as disabelng part of the emission control system is illegal on UK roads. The egr is part of the NoX reduction system.
What was the issue? Why has it been mapped?. Blocked egr...
...have a EML on, flashing coil light and van is in limp mode. I have taken it to a large reputable indy who has run the diagnostics and said the EGR is sooted up and needs replacing at a cost of £1268. They wont do the EGR delete.
There is a smaller, more local garage to me who has said they...
...I’m interested in. Whilst I have at least one good run out a week that should keep the DPF happy, most of my runs are short and it would be my daily commute. Does going for the more powerful engine increase the risk of issues with EGR/DPF if it’s not blasting down the motorway every day?
Thanks
...was running ok, we carried on up the road at a moderate pace with the lights still on.
I cleared the fault codes on Sunday - low flow in the egr, reductant system performance, scr nox catalyst efficiency and they have not returned since. Since the Adblue light was still on, and now showing...
It sounds like this one is in the year range of the bad EGRs with the biturbo engine.
Unless the EGR has been blanked off, or replaced etc I would avoid it.
Afternoon all,
Hoping I can tap into the hive mind.
I've recently had the EGR replaced on my T6 (67 plate, 150, manual)
Originally there were no codes but I couldn't see anywhere in the service history it had been done so thought I had better bite the bullet.
Since getting it back I've...
...that straight away. The leak was small and couldn't be heard.
So now hopeful that the P010100 wouldn't come back.
How wrong was I.
So next the EGR was mapped out, this cured the P040100 :) However the dreaded P010100 was still there after a few miles :(
So this time the inlet was smoke...
...would help diagnose?
Not sure what the ‘companion software’ was that you checked the DPF soot level with (93%) but check it again with Carista.
EGR flushes are just are pretty much a waste of time, once the EGR has clogged any flushing medium can’t pass through the cooler. Regard the EGR as a...
I want to check for a leak on the front EGR pipe which I know are prone to splitting where it goes into the throttle valve.
I have smoke tested the inlet so wasn’t sure if it would make it all the way around to the EGR pipe work without having to do anything to open the EGR or throttle.
