Thank you so much for the flooring, it was great to meet you and it is going to an appreciative home and will help ensure that our wheelchairs don’t make the back of our van get all wet and smelly.
I’ve been looking at WAVs (wheelchair accessible vehicles) and saw the thread Steved55 posted which put me off based on needing a new floor/crossmembers as just abit outside of my skillset.
I think if they’ve been Motobility then should be fully maintained and ‘probably’ low mileage/looked after
Hi Julie,
If your van is already modified for wheelchair access you may have issues fitting a rock n roll bed as they are generally fixed to the floor via bolts and mounting plates beneath the van. This blocks access for a wheelchair from the rear of the van.
I've seen a few that come on rails...
...seemed to know. It seems most likely that the 80l is longer and so doesn't hang lower. I was going with an autolift as opposed to the bruns as it doesn't involve moving the fuel tank. In the end I went with a crafter though as the transporter was too small for a wheelchair when the bed was down
Yes very likely, there's definitely a company who provide this service, I believe they make alterations to valving in the rack - so it may be a case of put up or pay up I'm afraid.
...a run, you and your Mrs could do with a break (!). There will be more than enough of us onsite to set up your gear, all happy to be ordered around by you! My mother in law has several spare disabled buggies that we could borrow, we wouldn't even have to push you around in a wheelchair! Simples!
...Also has electric side steps on front and side passenger doors and full length running board on drivers side. It has been used as a wheelchair accessible vehicle and also has at present a 1000 mm wide electric semi automatic vapor ricon rear ramp. Full length flat ( not dropped) smart...
...i have understood for the top buttons where is the heater for window i think i need to by 7LA 927 211 and i can use the WLAN button for wheelchair unlock but it is not clear for me what is the code for the bottom area where is the MODE button. Do you know what i should search?
Also I do not...
Being a SWB will be limiting the options. There are no permanent modifications with the Van King system, so that will be acceptable for a Motability vehicle.
Give Murray a call, his details are on the Van King Contact page. He's a very helpful guy.
My T6 is used for my wheelchair bound son.
I plan to get an air ride kit fitted to enable me to drop in as low as possible to enable easier wheelchair access.
However, I've just noticed my lovely ABT bumper flares down at the edges quite significantly. The corners sit about 3 or 4 inches lower...
Just had Air ride installed to simplify my sons wheelchair access and must say it's a game changer. No more heavy ramp sliding around in the van and far quicker to get him in.
However, I've been playing around with the 3 preset pressure values. Mostly trying to find the lowest safe running...
Hi guys,
I've had a battery drain on my T6 Velle. I think we found it, and was a simple fix. I've got adaptions on her as I'm a wheelchair user and it appears one of the adaptions was adjusted wrong, it was permanently holding the auto gear lever button in and therefore keeping things alive...
Well the wheelchair conversion company have said they can start work the 1st week of Jan and it will take 4-8 weeks. The only plus side is it will probably be on a new plate. :(
...225/65 ko2 s
I’ve done a lot of isolated off-road corrugated km on these, and they are still going strong
the height increase has made wheelchair lift use a lot easier when it comes to curbs, wouldn’t be as better than using air suspension in this case, but it’s a lot better than stock...
@starstruck
yep same from us at Surrey we go down to the south coast most weekends
my wife is disabled and wheelchair bound most of the time but hey life goes on
anytime you wanna day out down our way just message sure we can all arrange a meet up
good luck with your new van
...with no dates available for it. I think she said the part number is Vw 5wa531971.
Currently we are now stuck as we both use powered wheelchairs and so can’t go anywhere without this van. Motability as usual have nothing available via their ‘partner companies’ that they can give us.
Anyone...
