A defective battery may well cause many faults, once the new battery is fitted and the faults are cleared you’ll know for sure.

If it's a 2015 T5.1 with stop/start it will need coding in. The second check is to see if it has the sensor on the battery NEG terminal.. Drop us a pic of the battery terminals and we'll have a look. Any 🤞 cal garage should be able to code it.... Or Halfords etc.

Wow, that's like £300 to code a £150 battery. Where do they get these prices from? It's not imperative that you code it. The van will eventually 'learn' the new battery apparently. But as above, buy a carista or find someone nearby with VCDS who will do it for you.

I managed to use VCDS to clear the ecall fault but I couldn’t get the module to charge the new battery so I charged it outside of the van and then put it back in. Once charged the remaining fault codes cleared.

As long as you enter the correct size and type of battery you can just change one digit in the previous serial number and it accepts the coding as a new battery.

Ah, that’s interesting as the stop/start doesn’t work and says it in the driver alerts bit on the MFD. I seen a couple of vids on you tube which say the new battery needs coding - fad have a decent priced battery so can change it myself instead of getting fleeced at Halfords but I can’t code it🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I couldn’t get the battery registered using Carista due to standing alarms however when it was at mates garage the other day he managed to get it registered using Vagcom/VCDS

Do not know the tool, but did you open the motor bonnet? Most codes won't write if you don't do that.
