I had this problem with the original unit in my 2018 van.
Fortunately VW Centre in Camberley changed it before the end of my extended all in warranty.
The replacement has been ok so far 🤞🏻
Yes, in general (see my own thread about) I find VAG quite unpleasant when it comes to offer warranty / extension. I really cannot understand why. I mean they should like that a Customer wants to pay (dearly) in advance for a service. I had the opposite experience with all the thers...
I suspect it's something similar, I believe it's still under extendedwarranty so I'll call them tomorrow to get it booked in. Was hoping it'd be something easy that I could just replace without all of the faff of taking it to a dealer :(
2017 T6 looking at getting some warranty cover. too old for VW cover. The AA have cover that included 95% of things and about £40 month. Doesn't seem bad for the level of cover and my local VAG specialist can claim the repairs. Any one taken AA Warranty before? Thanks
Yes that is very annoying and one of the bad things about the all in plan.
They say the oil leaks are not covered, and the crankshaft main seal is considered an oil leak so not covered.
It is however covered under the 3 years manufacturer warranty, and also the extended factory warranty for...
...when I bought the van from listers VW in droitwich as the van was 6 months old when I had it. Currently at 38.5k miles full VW service history. Wondering if anyone has had a replacement done outside of VW 3 year manufacturer warranty but still under extendedwarranty? Sorry for the long waffle
Well my 2 year all in plan ends soon and received an email offering an extendedwarranty. My van doesn't qualify for another All in plan due to it's age. 12 months, no breakdown cover, no MOT's, no servicing, £1300. 😂
...42,500 roughly)
My gear box is now needing replacing and they are saying that it should have had the oil change at 37,000 so the extendedwarranty are saying it's not a warranty issue
I have tried stating that the VW garage never mentioned this when it was serviced at 29,500 miles
The...
I can get the extendedwarranty but the motor needs a few things sorted. Water pump/cambelt etc.
My question is, can I get those things replaced anywhere I want or does VW have to do the fix and do the parts have to be VW own?
I can't see anything in the documents that says you can't have a...
...what we do for our car and van via Nationwide. Covers the person in the vehicle and not the vehicle, UK & EU. Cheapest we will get for both vehicles.
Used it in France a couple of years ago and very happy, even though the car took 6 weeks to be relayed home and repaired under extendedwarranty.
We had a new dsg box fitted, under the all in extendedwarranty. On our 67 plate van.... Same thing, cracked case oil leak.

Ensure you're comparing like-for-like when assessing warranty cover. I suspect the warranty cover provided by the all-in scheme may have more exclusions than an extendedwarranty. Could be wrong though - just something to check.
