My situation is this…filled up
Ad-blue before leaving home - read 4500 miles remaining. Had the 650 mile warning ping up with maybe 1/3 of a tank of fuel left about 450 miles into our journey. Stopped soon after to fill up on fuel and now ad-blue. Ad-blue warning did not change, still reading...
Just to add to this. During our recent skiing trip, I got the amber light of doom on the dash, the Cat converter warning. I’d filled the ad-blue up before we left with the required amount. Normally this gives me a 6000 mile range, but this time it only went to 3000miles, which was odd. Anyway...
The holes are there but you need the nuts and bolts. One needs the adblue tank dropping too if you have one. And check your airbag too. If it's a factory single it's likely it's a single bag
Maybe your ad-blue has been deleted by a previous owner. How long have you owned the van, how many miles have you done since taking ownership? I’m assuming your van is a Euro6. Does it have an adblue filler under the diesel filler?
Any help would be grateful...
I hade the 650 mile warning light appear and found that the wiring to the AdBlue injector had been pulled out (this was after i foolishly overfilled with AdBlue). I replaced the injector and the 650 light disappeared and was replaced with range count of 6500...
Would be interesting to plug in to my van to see what it makes of it. Got the van last year and have done about 7k in it and not been aware of any regen. I’m assuming that the DPF and Adblue have been mapped out by the previous owner though he denies any knowledge of it?
You say you syphoned 11l out and then did the 30 sec ign cycle, after which you added the requested 0.75g (3 litres ish). Did you try putting another 7l in of fresh stuff to try to fill the tank? Just wonder if it nbeeds some sort of recalibration after you've emptied the tank.
@manfrotto I filled the ad-blue up the week before, did all the 30 second wait etc etc, did about 4 or 5 journeys on different days, and of differing times/miles with the adblue miles ticking down, then did the fuel trick I'd read about nearly 10 days later and hey presto -sorted!
Just looping back on this, I went to see Vee W Services in Bristol and they were great- I needed a new AdBlue tank, not cheap but grateful they identified the issue after such a rubbish experience at the main dealer.
I'm pretty sure the problem started the time before I over filled it as the adblue warning came on a few hundred miles after I put 20 litres in previously and didn’t overflow.
Anyway like I said I can't drive it anymore or RAC won't play ball.
Thanks for all your input, if I do get them to tow...
Get a carista Dongle, and vag dpf.
Regen signs will include, raised revs from 850 to around 9:50 or just under a thousand RPM.
Slight burning smell from outside that comes from the exhaust being very hot.
Fans running after engine off chaos if you are midway through a regen, to keep air...
