My van has that wire connected to the battery treminal - It does stop the Stop/start from working if disconnected.

ok, so you need to correctly wire your dashcam into the correct fuse section that isn't inline with startstop, that's easy to do.
in relation to your battery replacement was the vehicle programmed to let it know it had a new battery installed?
get a longer vid clip too, from the engine bay...

As far as I understand the way that these devices work is the if the stopstart was OFF when the ignition was turned off them it remembers that. WHen you next start the van, the stopstart will come on, the module then recognises this and “pushes the button’ (sends a signal) to turn the stop...
Its always present now. Used to be intermittent but now present all the time, along with startstop fault. Even after clearing codes from diagnostic stool
If it's a 2015 T5.1 with stop/start it will need coding in.
The second check is to see if it has the sensor on the battery NEG terminal..
Drop us a pic of the battery terminals and we'll have a look.
Any 🤞 cal garage should be able to code it.... Or Halfords etc.
...are you getting any errors logged in VCDS for anything not charging/battery related?
stopstart is one of the first things that gets canned if the whole vehicle electronics isnt in tip top condition with no errors, so if you have any faults, sort them first and you will likely find...
The fan runs weather hot or cold stays on
goes off briefly but then just kicks in again
the startstop just comes up as eating on start up but if i drive with it sometimes goes into limp mode
so always have to turn it off
no over heating issues
lost slight bit of coolant but no sign of leak...
What model is your van?
Depending on the model/age it is possible on older models to disable stop/start via VCDS by changing parameters to make it think that it does not meet the required conditions to work, and I think this can cause messages on the dash. This is typically the stop/start...
