Work/mobile Office Build

Got the van back from Wessex Vans in Poole after some conversion works. Ultra sound deadening, lining, windows, tints, etc etc and insulated timber bulkhead on front end of rear arches in order to separate the mucky end.

I'm fitting out the rear myself in order to hone the available space to (I hope) my exact requirements. Chosen a shade darker on the lining in order to separate the professional fit and my not-so-professional fit. 3M'd clear carpet runner to rear in order to protect the floor. Fitted hatch to take a set of triple extension ladders, as I'm trying to avoid placing work stuff on the roof.

Nearly finished. Attempting to utilise every conceivable available space.

Also, I’m getting a larger table top for the ‘b pillar’ to mimick the rear passenger bench, to use as a desk on site etc. It won’t be red though as it may be too distracting, so I’ll keep it dark grey hopefully to match the seat back.

I find driving the van with the seat bench folded and the side windows fitted, (along with the sunroof) very rewarding. Easy over the shoulder view as well.

Very impressive.
I thought mine looked great after all the custom work kit build, but that puts me to shame.

Any annoying rattles?

I’m guessing you are a spark - like me!
Yep. I'm a sparks. Worked a lot of the country in the past. Big stuff, Really Big stuff & some small stuff. Mostly electrical maintenance now though, so I've got to keep lots of stock items, and know where to find them!!

Hope you don’t mind me saying this but why the working space ... and so big?

That's very kind of you. The only rattle I've had is from the sun roof blind! But I think I've fixed it. If it comes back then it's a dealer visit along with a moan. The tables are a few mm's apart, so one sits under the other without contact. It's close, but been ok so far. I'm going to fit table top mounts so I can swap the 'b pillar' tops easily. I've a few more ideas which I may try, but overall I'm really pleased with the outcome so far. Strangely, being a sparks, I've avoided any additional electrical work apart from the LED to the step which the converters fitted. The choice of van and the fit out are essential for work, but also will form the base of a conversion when the time comes, so I didn't want to spend money, that would go to waste later on. Hopefully!

Do you mean the space in the main part (middle) of the van? If so, it's to carry materials. Some are fragile, so they are boxed in plastic crates, placed in the van to transport to site. There's a lot of stacking space in there, and it can be cleared in minutes and put back into store at end of working day/weekend.

And I've got kirivan bench swivel and sports craft driver swivels fitted. 4-seat combo for dry & warm site meetings!

No, I meant so much space where the workstation is?

Doh. I see. Well, with the present set up, it's a bit of a stretch on the existing red table top. I always had in mind using the folded passenger bench as a workstation. I.e.: laptop, paperwork etc. But the table top being the same size will be more efficient. And as it's all removable for different tasks, it kind of makes sense to utilise all options. And the table will fold externally, and as I have a multi-rail fitted, I'll be able to work undercover ( with an awning) in the rain, and still use the table. I'm just conscious of trying to be super efficient and use all available options, as this will make my life at work easier. I have to do a lot of paperwork on the sites. Sometimes 8 or so sites a day.

I'm sort of challenging myself to come up with every conceivable idea to get maximum use/efficiency from the van. Given the cost of them, I reckon it makes sense!
